Vestibular disorders affect people's balance as well as their visual perception of their world around them. Don't make animations, sliders, videos, or rapid movement start automatically, as autoplaying elements could trigger a bad reaction in people who have vestibular disorders.
I dropped out of high school, gained a huge amount of often difficult life experience, then went to community college, and now I'm a professor in a prestigious university. There HAS TO BE A PLACE for non-traditional students. www.theguardian.com/education/20...
Please can you add alt text to your images, for people with sight difficulties?
Thanks.

If you can make accommodations for autistic children then you can make them for autistic adults aswell.
I'm puzzled as to why this is so difficult.
I hope the pain eases for you very soon.
On competing access needs: "Itβs vital that every disabled and neurodivergent person can attend events accessible to them. Accessibility is too important for us to ignore just because it can be difficult or unpopular." @brookewinters.bsky.social at TPGA:

"We also canβt choose one group and decide to make everything accessible to them, and inaccessible to other people. Itβs not acceptable to sacrifice one group of disabled people for another, nor is it necessary."

Nice to be clamping down on refugees just when weβre participating in a war that will create hundreds of thousands of new refugees.
So much care for disabled people is rigged with indignity and lack of control but this is one of the worst Iβve ever seen: a young disabled woman moved to a nursing home against her will - literally.

Yes.
I really hate that attitude toward ADHD that it doesn't affect all aspects of adult lives because it totally does. Just because we notice it most in children who spend a lot of time being supervised and struggling with school doesn't mean that's where the effects end.
Definitely agree!
I believe it has to be a genuine apology for what they did.
Not the "I'm sorry if you feel..." offensive non-apology some people choose to give.
Currently thereβs no data sharing opt out option for the new NHS systems Federated Data Platform (FDP) & National Data Integration Tenant (NDIT) both awarded to Palantir Technologies !
All your health data.
Anonymisation can be overcome once you start matching common data to other large databases.
People often notice you only when you're shining with positivity or inspiration , when you're down, it's as if you vanish from sight.
Dangerous and abusive, frankly.
Sorry to hear you have nausea.
I can be a bit nausea prone and it's pretty horrible and I can relate to it causing difficulty with focus.
My sympathies.
I hope you feel better as the day progresses.
Blue textured background. There is a map of the US in the middle where the following states are highlighted orange: Alaska, Montana, South Dakota, Kansas, Missouri, Indiana, Texas, Louisiana, and Florida. Text reads: 9 states are suing the US government to threaten disability rights in a case called Texas v Kennedy. Hereβs what you need to know and how you can take action!
Blue textured background with a white box with text. Text reads: WHAT IS TEXAS V KENNEDY? Texas v Kennedy is about Section 504 rules. Section 504 is an important law that says groups who get money from the US government cannot discriminate against disabled people. Law and rules are different. The new lawsuit does not want to get rid of the Section 504 law. The Section 504 law says that you canβt discriminate against disabled people if you get money from the United States government. The Section 504 rules explain what disability discrimination is. Texas v Kennedy is only about the Section 504 rules.
Blue textured background. Text reads: WHAT DO THE SECTION 504 RULES DO? The main rule that states are suing over in Texas v Kennedy is called the integration mandate. The integration mandate says that all people with disabilities have a right to live, work, and get services in the community. When we say βthe communityβ, we mean places that are not only for disabled people. The integration mandate means that disabled people cannot be forced to live in institutions if we can live in the community instead.
Blue textured background. Text reads: WHAT DO THE SECTION 504 RULES DO? But the integration mandate isnβt the only rule under threat in Texas v Kennedy. If the states suing have their way, other important rules will go away, including rules that: Protect disabled people from discrimination when we go to the doctor; Stop doctors from making choices about our medical treatment because they have bad opinions about our disabilities; Make sure that medical equipment like exam tables and x-ray machines are accessible to people with disabilities; And much more.
Disability rights are under attack! Check out our plain language action alert to learn about Texas v Kennedy, a lawsuit about Section 504 rules. autisticadvocacy.org/2026/02/take...

We do need earlier autism diagnoses so more autistic kids can get beneficial supports as early as possible. But I get irritated by these articles that hammer on about goals like mainstreaming kids, or getting them jobs. NO. Autistic kids deserve supports even if they are never "productive" FFS. 2/2
Hi, do you have a link to a larger version of the image or could you add alt text?
I'm neurodivergent with physical symptoms so I'd be really interested to read what it says but I have visual difficulties so cannot.
Thanks.
I'm looking for advice.
If you have a portable/collapsible washing machine for your clothes that works well for you, can you please send me your recommendation?
Thank you!
I was diagnosed with post-viral syndrome many years ago. I think that, due to the physical symptoms, it was partly the right diagnosis but I think burnout was responsible for the horrible mental and cognitive symptoms that accompanied them.
I was ~90% recovered after 2 years. Never made it to 100%.
There are people, some of whom are seriously ill and/or disabled, living in dangerous rented accommodation and who have nowhere else they can go and some of whom are in poverty.
Not enough is done to help such tenants or to force landlords, both social and private, to keep them safe.
Just saying.

I miss some of the online autism forums.
Reform has said they will ban the equality act on βday oneβ. Not a single family I know, would be unaffected by this. This includes age discrimination and womenβs rights (pregnancy & maternity leave) and sexual orientation and so much moreβ¦
How can anyone vote to take away the #EqualityAct? This is truly disgraceful! If you care about disabled people donβt vote Reform. If you care about Womenβs rights, donβt vote Reform.
