The Day of the Triffids
A number of films have been donated by a former BBC employee. With these were reel-to-reel recordings made in August 1968 of βThe Day of the Triffidsβ, which had been broadcast on Radio 4 FM in June and July that year. These copies are of very high quality.
When the estate of a deceased collector, or an industry professional, has agreed to submit the collection for cataloguing, the entire collection is removed from their property.

Thanks for your question Gav. Yes it is due to drying time etc but also because some of the rollers take off dust/hairs etc, others gently buff the film to further clean it. It is all timed and engineered to work in a manner based upon years of experience.
