ElixirConf EU in Malaga. Anyone know the Elixir community there? I like to connect locally and maybe we can do some of those nice satellite events. But that hinges on some local company, hackerspace or similar being game to host. Feel free to reach out, I'm everywhere.

Ah, and last time I was in Berlin I went bouldering to "urban apes" and "ostbloc". Both gyms are nice and I can vouch for them, though I prefer the former (and I think they opened a new place I haven't gone to yet)
Works for me! If y'all end up planning it during the conference, since I won't be around, please ping @pragtob.bsky.social (I'll be crashing at his place) or keep me posted over here :)
In any case, best of luck with your talk!!
Sure thing :)
How long are you gonna be staying in Berlin? Friday/Saturday would be golden for me, and you could rest from the conference
Yaaaay! When would it best work for you?
@lpil.uk I believe I've seen you tweet about having sessions in London before π
I might be taking shorts in the dark asking here but would anyone attending Code BEAM Europe be up for some bouldering in Berlin?
I'm not gonna be attending the conference, as I'm only arriving Thursday around 3pm but I'll be in the city till Sunday morning :)

Radiology is a specialty that was long promised to be automated via ML, but that still persists today. There are fascinating studies on AI/human joint performance around it.
I appreciate this article, and the distinction between benchmarks settings and the more situated nature of real work.

A key difference here is that while either can be incorrect, the structure of Wikipedia *creates context* and the structure of LLMs *destroys context*
Wikipedia has linked sources and an edit history showing where information came from and who added it when
An LLM just generates text

Programming, scripting, and markup languages Rust is yet again the most admired programming language (72%), followed by Gleam (70%), Elixir (66%) and Zig (64%). Gleam is a new addition to the list, and for good reason - developers like it! Which programming, scripting, and markup languages have you done extensive development work in over the past year, and which do you want to work in over the next year? (If you both worked with the language and want to continue to do so, please check both boxes in that row.)
Oh my gosh! Gleam got #2 most admired programming language in the Stack Overflow survey!
We're on the podium with Rust and Elixir!
Forgot to post here so... Hello network! It's time for me to move on and I'm kicking off the search for my next role. Let me know if you're looking for someone who obsessively ships, takes on whatever work has the highest impact, and consistently gets feedback like "you're too impatient".
