Looking forward to the day I can officially be considered an old batty lady so I can hand out ear buds to people who play videos or FaceTime in public. “Her you go, dearie. Free ear buds!” 🤦🏼‍♀️

A reminder: Caroline Kennedy said that RFK Jr. would put mice and baby chicks into a blender, presumably while they were still alive, so that he could feed his hawks. He dumped a dead bear in Central Park. He chain-sawed off the head of a dead whale, which was a crime.

How DARE he blame the hiring the people of color, women, veterans and other marginalized and underrepresented groups on a tragic accident where human beings LOST THEIR LIVES.

I know it has happened to RC Bray, and a few other colleagues have told me that it happened to them too. It’s just an unfortunate part of the business, I guess.

The double edged sword of truly loving our work.

Gutted.
Just found out that my most-reviewed audiobook (20,000 reviews, mostly 4&5 star), recorded in 2021, has been re-recorded, and released today. I was proud of my work on it, and the many listeners who took time to tell me they loved my narration.

So, how’s this going to work? Are conservatives going to start to turn in their—and their neighbors’—landscapers, house cleaners, subcontractors building homes in our neighborhood, whom they suspect are “illegals”? Who do they think picks the fruit and veggies they like?

Butterflies. In addition to being an audiobook narrator of over 460 titles, an on-camera and voice actor, I’m a recently certified Texas Master Naturalist, and I help people create native plant butterfly gardens 🦋

American snout butterfly at the native plant butterfly garden I designed and installed at Mrs Jerry Bryant Elementary school in Prosper, TX. Explain to me WHY doesn’t every elem, middle and high school have a pollinator habitat? Native plants are less maintenance than lawns.

I recommend you follow Milk the Weed on FB. He teaches about replacing lawns. You can search for native turf grass in your ecoregion, or shrink your lawn area and create larger plant beds; consider as area rugs between plant beds, instead of wall-to-wall carpeting

They will have lists of native plants specifically for your local pollinators. Butterflies, like many insects are selective about their ‘host’ plants (ones they may eggs on).

I learned that the modern honey bees we have in North America are not native to NA; they also out-compete our many native bee populations and are less effective pollinators. Search online for your local chapter of Master Naturalists, Native Plant Society or Wild Ones.

I’m a Texas Master Naturalist, so I help people create native plant gardens for butterflies and other pollinators, emphasizing biodiversity and the importance of a healthy ecosystem. I’m a volunteer, not a scientist. 🤓🦋

I’m here! Since I use butterflies as a gateway drug to conservation, I thought it appropriate to join a social that has a butterfly as its logo. You?
