Even with limitations, I would say that most physiological findings in whole organisms (particular mouse and rat) has translated into human health. Not the treatments or every phenotype, but yes the basic principles.

I will. I think I have not listened to this one yet.

I was thiking of this exact same example and also the research on the vagal immunosuppressive reflex that Kevin Tracey has spearheaded and is now being the base to treat RA or Crohn's with vagal stimulation.

While I'm all for finding options & this needs funding, are we really there yet? Particularly for basic research? What are your thoughts?
We need to make sure we don'tt phase out animal models if there's no real alternative.
