The problem is, how do you “sell” these sorts of reforms? Nobody who wants to be the executive wants to have fewer powers, a slower more deliberative government. It seems people in congress don’t care about law making or asserting their powers, they just want a pulpit or to make money on investments
People (& news & social media) don’t focus on “how we got here”, just on the immediate issue. Yes, the dems helped create the environment where an executive exert this power. They just didn’t due to “political norms”. Then someone came along who doesn’t care about “political norms”.
