After re-watching the 2018 Halloween, I've come to the conclusion (as a long time fan of the series) that it was exactly the sequel/reboot the original needed, or at least deserved.

It wasn't perfect, but it told a solid story, provided excellent tension, and paid homage to the original

There's no better slasher film and, in my opinion, no better horror film.
