Yep. That’s the life Fer-me….
Yes, Morse or less..
All of it
I look like I am a normal person just going about my business. but I am really thinking about IR spectroscopy.

It’s #NextStopPhD for Oseni Kadiri, of the Fehl Lab! Oseni gave his 4th year talk: "Development and the Application of GlycoID2 Proximity Labeling Tools for the Study of O-GlcNAcylation Events in Live Cells" at #wsuchemistry this afternoon. #glycotime #ChemSky
Indeed!
I am just gonna say that I LOVE IR spectroscopy. Like … really LOVE. Also a massive U2 fan.
Fight me!

An image of a comic titled "TEENAGE DAUGHTER IONS" that parodies a mass spectrometry graph and a chemical structure. The top half shows a graph with vertical lines (peaks) labeled with numbers and stereotypical teenage phrases in blue ink. For instance, a peak at 114 says "STOP BEING SO ANNOYING!", 259 says "YOU ARE SO LAME!", 244 says "I DON'T NEED YOUR HELP!", and 327 says "YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT MUSIC!". The bottom half shows a a molecule of quinacrine (m/z = 372) with a "sad face" drawn inside one of its rings. The molecule is labeled with , corresponding to the final peak on the graph, and a speech bubble coming from it says "SIGH!!".

Lived in Singapore for most of my life but it feels great to give my first (two) talks at NTU Singapore 🇸🇬 last week. Celebrating 🎉 #ACS150 @acs.org with the ACS Singapore Youth Challenge. So happy to see young chemists presenting their research 🔬 @mbsullivan.bsky.social @chemscrapes.bsky.social
I have not been active on Bluesky for quite some time, but I think it's time to come back. Hopefully the #chemsky community still is alive and kicking. :)
Its the molecule Horsfiline done up to look like a horse
恭喜發財! 馬年快樂! Happy Lunar New Year! May the year of the Horse bring good health and happiness to all!
The molecule below is Horsfiline. #chemsky #chemchat
A bridle oxide handing and Allene a box of chocolates. It is saying “roses are red. Violets are blue. We should get together. In a 4n+2
Two panels. The cycloadduct resulting from the 4n+2 is sitting in bed having a cigarette. The two halves are now chopped as an oxazoline. First panel One half of the Cycladduct is saying “that was great”, the other replies “I’ll say”. Second panel the first half says “what are we going to tell your wife”. The second half of the cycloadduct is still smiling saying “no idea”

Not dirty enough 😇
Two puppeteers. One is shocked and looks distraught. The other one is smiling happily. It has been reshaped into a heart and is saying “happy valentine’s day baby”. There is a blue flames Bunsen burner in the background

About 10 years ago, I closed my website/blog, and I have always wanted to "reopen" it.
Today I can tick it down from my 2020 New Year's resolutions.
I think it's also nice to restart the blog with my first blog post of 2013
Here we go:

Seriously, if you’re on #ChemChat or #ChemSky and not following @inprep.bsky.social I don’t know what to say
Best chem satire this side of @chemscrapes.bsky.social
I’ll have egg on my face if the proposal gets trashed though. At least I’ll get cartoon material 🙃
this may seem trivial/obvious to some, but I guess we all have our own journey.
Connecting dots is more impactful when you can see more dots and understand their value. Taking steps outside your field of expertise seems easier when you know how to speak to other disciplines. At least that has been my experience coming back to science.
Tell you one thing #chemchat. I have been looking at writing research proposals after a loooong break. I thought was my chemistry had been eroded by time. Rather, it’s been sharpened by experience. I think that thinking outside requires stepping outside the box. 1/2
I effing love chemistry
Coolness! #chemchat
It’ll she is still screwing up her face at the mistake. She won’t try 🙃
