Apparently it’s called being precocial! Guinea pigs live in herds their whole lives so there isn’t really any leaving the nest.
That’s the best part about them! I know there’s a word for when a baby animal is just a mini adult, but I can’t remember it at the moment. Piggies don’t have burrows to hide their babies in, so they need to be ready to run from predators asap! They can eat solid food after 24 hours of being born :)

I feel ya, man. It’s hard to get much engagement with original characters that other people don’t know. I got more attention when I mostly drew Animal Jam art, but now that I focus on my own characters not as many people are interested.
