I have to disagree thoroughly with that assessment, especially when you factor in backwards compatibility which the Switch 1 didn't have, NSO which the Switch 1 didn't have at launch, and 3rd party games, which the Switch 2 has significantly better 3rd party games.
But it's outsold all the other previous launches of any system regardless of stock. I see what you're saying, but you're downplaying the sales a bit here.
Yet the Switch 2 has far outsold the Switch 1 in the same timeframe. So the Switch 2 exclusives are hitting hard enough for the system to sell the way it's selling.

Hi Mat, in the Circana reports for the game sales charts, are hardware bundles sales counted? For example, the Mario Kart World Switch 2 bundle, do those Mario Kart World digital codes that come from the bundle count towards the sales in the game you track?

Giving 8's to this game is absolutely insane considering many open world games still don't do what it did 8 years ago.
Naw, there's still plenty of people who want one that didn't get one, I think you're underestimating how popular the Switch brand is at this point. Also, Donkey Kong Bananza launches next month.

There's nothing to be concerned about. Digital sales ratios in Japan are high for Switch 2, look at the Japanese eShop charts.
Wii U was bad with 3rd party because the system didn't sell well. Clearly Switch 2 is going to sell better so there's nothing to be concerned about.
Wii U was 2 generations ago, it's time to move on from that mentally.
Agreed, it was a terrible time to be a fan.
