Robert Redford playing a gentle incarnation of death, coming for a frightened old woman in The Twilight Zone episode "Nothing in the Dark" (1962). An extraordinary performance then, terribly bittersweet today
Robert Redford in The Sting
Robert Redford in All The Presidentβs Men
Robert Redford in Three Days of the Condor
Robert Redford in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Robert Redford was my favorite, itβs hard to process that he is gone. His performances made more movies beloved to me than anyone else, Iβd take The Sting over any other film for flawless perfection. We donβt expect famous people to also be good people but he was. He belongs to the ages
Robert Redford (1936-2025) π€
Both he and Newman were exactly what famous actors should be: concerned with doing good work and getting good films made, displaying an affection and love for art, having fun hobbies, giving lots of their time and money to help people and not being a complete piece of shit in their personal life RIP
It's cornball, it's predictable, it's cliche... but when Redford hits the stadium lights in THE NATURAL...
Fucking CINEMA.
A movie star to his core, Robert Redford has died after a visionary career in cinema, including founding the Sundance Institute that transformed the market for independent films.
One of my favorite Robert Redford stories is when Mike Nichols was considering him for "The Graduate" and told him he needed to act like a guy who has struck out with women and Redford replied "what do you mean?"
You knew it had to happen eventually, but Robert Redford is a tough one to lose. His movies were some of the first to start my love for film.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid or All the Presidentβs Men, Iβm still not sure which one I saw first. Both films made me fall in love with cinema. RIP
The moment where he says the wrong name? Thatβs not just great acting - thatβs sublimely existing on camera. God he was so fucking good. youtu.be/hv0ezAKDHtM

We need Colbertβs bold and frank commentary now as much as ever, and we need to stop corporations like CBS from cowing to political intimidation of this administration. Add your name to the petition to demand they reverse their decision and keep Colbert on air! sign.moveon.org/petitions/co...
