Ugh I know. Like a guy in a movie saying he was one day shy of retirement.
It's a very good return, I was actually kind of surprised they got that much. But yeah. Very sad.
Absolutely a logical move from a hockey standpoint but this one hurts my heart. Dowd is such a good guy, such a big part of that room, and I remember him saying how happy he was (and how emotional he was when he said it) to be able to retire a Caps after he re-signed last year. Ugh.
