Morning mate ๐
Tarkos positioning this season has been very suspect on numerous occasions & usually at Home. So disappointing to see & undermines the rest of his work.
๐ฏ mate
Am exactly the same with wide players & strikers.
Totally get that mate. You offer really good views even if or when I dont personally agree.
I think we are doing well all things considered. Weve no good full backs, no pace, nobody can cross accurately, very few players score goals or have any previous goal scoring pedigree. Theres lots of glaring deficiencies.
The summer signings I found poor for us in the main & said it at the time.
Im sure you were a good judge of a player back when it wasnt so easily available.
The best combo is always the eye test & data with context
I personally think he is excellent mate but im just trying to say its not certain if he would be a good move or not. So many people are binary in their thinking.
This squad would need a massive overhaul to play his way and their recruiting team imo is way better than ours. Its got risk
I dont think its the eyes playing tricks so much as the bad passes that could really put us in the shit tend to stick in the front of the mind.
Data is great but it can also play tricks on you.
See this a lot on fan channels when they just look at numbers
Potentially
The press probably think that because thats what the data on teams that move stadium has historically proven
I can only assume those going so hard in their thoughts on Iraola didnt live through the Mike Walker days.
Nothing is black & white in football but as much as there is a case for him there is definitely a case against.
I distinctly remember the same debate around Graham Potter
Absolutely spot on Sean.
Think people are getting the fact we are poor in quality offensively & being negative or defensive mixed up. We are not defensive at Home and thats why we keep getting caught out on the counter attack. Our cbs are regularly way too high trying to squeeze the opponent
To be fair it usually just goes out
It happens because they deem it all not to be a foul because the ball isnt in play. Its so easily stamped out if they want to. Call the fouls regardless of the ball being in play or not. If someone got decked they wouldnt say they are immune from violent conduct because balls not in play
I think that is most likely the case
The players we signed though dont look like Moyes players at all to me and from what I understand we class all those players as high risk so dont get them.
Summerville, Dango, Truffert, Jiminez, Le Fee, were all realistic targets for us & all waltz into our team & make it score more goals and be much better to watch. All have key attributes the current lot lack but we sign an incoherent bunch that look a waste of ๐ฐ
They are a few, there lots more
Think theres a strong argument both for & against but ultimately all that matters is what the owners think.
Be realistic Ken
Loads more of this ๐๐
Finally starting to look like it should do.
Be great if the club could invest some of the money it makes into more Tifos too instead of spunking it away in other areas.
Think that day was just meant to be thankfully.
Everton see those players as high risk when they are not. Then go out & actually make high risk signings anyway.
Truffert was on our list then they decide not to sign him. Absolutely beggars belief
The underlying data for us at Home & us Away is very similar. I think people forget that coming to our stadium for the first time is also a massive motivator for the opposing teams.
Weve been a lot more fortunate away vs at Home where we are almost always punished for any mistakes.
Cant agree there. The money on Dibling could have been far better spent imo & that average comes from a few teams in the league being a bit crap at the signings they make. Plenty have a much higher success rate than 50%
Spot on. Because that style better suits the strengths of the squad / hides the weaknesses
Me too because I think theyve ballsed up the recruiting yet again. Only KDH & Grealish have moved the needle any.
I want to be excited for next season but the signings we make are key.
I think the Home record just reflects the weaknesses in the team myself. It could be a bit better of course but we've no proper good quality fullbacks, no pace, no proper striker. We are not going to be beating teams regularly with those issues
Lots of teams at a similar level. Fine margins decide most games.
Its a tight league & those teams are better than people think/thought. Its easy to look at table positions & think you should beat someone. Reality is different. Leeds have not lost many games at all in the last few months. West Ham was bad timing too. Arsenal struggled v wolves as did Lpool & utd
Agree completely. People trot out nonsense about how tough it is in January but meanwhile other premier league teams get good deals done. It is an excuse. Like the not being in Europe one was.
