in Texas, RGVDSA member Etienne Rosas (TX-34) goes down as expected, but puts up a surprisingly strong performance against Vicente Gonzalez (who outraised him ~40 to 1). Meanwhile, Andrew Hairston's campaign for Travis County Justice of the Peace P1 ends in a decisive loss for Austin DSA.

The first election night of the year sees DSA members go 2 wins, 2 losses; incumbent Marek Broderick (Burlington, VT City Council W8) retains his seat, and Triangle DSA member Natalie Bent Kitaif (Durham Board of Education D1) becomes the chapter's first member on that board.

The one and only @phara4assembly.bsky.social is looking for a new member of Congress to take on the oligarchy and the establishment, champion the labor movement, and fight the war machine.

Today, I had the distinct honor of taking office as the Assemblymember for the 36th Assembly District—and it feels a lot like the first day of school!
