I’m taking it slow on 2025 plans (I never make plans for a whole year anyway) because this January has been a LOT collectively.

Then, while I was browsing Insight Timer to find good meditations for energy clearing, one of them said “imagine a protective ball of light” and voila, I knew that FIERCE LIGHT was my phrase for 2025!

I always try to pick a word with multifaceted meaning, and this year is no different.

This year's was a later revelation, but the word FIERCE kept coming up. I wasn’t quite satisfied with the vibe of it on its own - too much intensity and not enough softness.

I played with lots of combinations of FIERCE with another more nurturing word, and for a while nothing seemed right.

I love the practice of choosing a theme word for the year. It's been a longtime tradition for me.

This practice varies according to what feels right: some years I pick more than one, some years the right word reveals itself a month ahead of time, and other times not until the year has begun.
