In 2014, the LNG terminal "Independence" ended dependence on a single, unreliable supplier. In 2022, Lithuania became the first in the EU to completely end Russian gas imports and and helped secure reliable alternatives for our neighbors.

Today 🇱🇹 Ambassador Nerijus Aleksiejūnas, together with Lithuanian community and colleagues, joined the tribute run 'Road of Life and Death' in Brussels, honouring freedom defenders who sacrificed their lives for Lithuania during soviet military aggression against civilians on January 13, 1991.
"Survival is becoming difficult for both small and large farms. The European Commission must take action to stabilize the situation in the dairy sector and contribute to the preservation of dairy farms," urged 🇱🇹 Minister Andrius Palionis at an extraordinary meeting of EU agriculture ministers.

At #EUCO today, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda emphasized that European security and defense have to be a priority in all EU decisions, considering the growing military and hybrid threats. He stressed the need to strengthen the security of the EU and NATO’s eastern flank without delay.
We welcome the @europarl.europa.eu resolution condemning Belarus for hybrid attacks against Lithuania and the EU, urging an immediate cessation, calling for additional sanctions and asking to develop EU flagship initiatives for Eastern Flank countries.
