what nice things happened over your holiday?
5. I went skiing with my husband and sis on Christmas Day. The snow conditions are incredibly worrisome in the state of Colorado but we still had a great ski day thanks to zero crowds and we just lapped groomers it was a blast.
4. I hung out with some friends on Christmas night (we did fam stuff Christmas Eve) and one couple brought their kids. These kids are super fun and we played a game called "You can't get me" where we chased each other around and hug attacked each other when someone got got.
3. I went to the Nutcracker with my husband & our friend & her 7 year old, who is basically my niece but we're not blood, but you know the vibes. Niece is super smart & funny & so fun to hang out with. Me and Niece have the same color hair so I told her "we could be sisters!" and she goes "I wish!"
2. My newlywed pals just got a new kitten too. He's a precious little ragdoll and I got to play with him and hold him a couple of times the last few days!! He is such a doll.
1. My sister got a new kitten. We played D&D for their birthday a few days ago and I got to hold and snuggle the new kitten for quite awhile, she's a tiny tortie and such a sweet gal.
the holiday szn is a hard time of year for me and for many of us, so here's a little mini thread of nice things that happened to me so far this holiday season if you'd like to add any of your Holiday Nices.

"there's homeless people" they live here too, coexist. skill issue.
"there's a lot of people" it's a city. you are boring. go find your homies in thornton, skill issue.
"it's loud" cars are loud, take the bus and do something about it. skill issue.
"the parking is bad" get a parking pass they're $20 a year and take 10 minutes to apply for. skill issue
ppl love to hate on living on south broadway but it's simply a skill issue.
anyways i hate lawns but my csu gardening course has humbled me by saying there is research to demonstrate that lawns help manage hot city temps, purify the air, and prevent soil from getting too dry. so i must concede lawns are not the worst thing ever even though i would prefer that b & w thinking
see what i mean? small steppy is better than no steppy, your landscaping choices are really important but it's not a zero sum game. you can inch your way towards a more community friendly yard, if you are privileged enough to have one
or maybe you look into a grass that requires less water and pest management for you to upkeep. like you literally just look into it! write it on a sticky note somewhere. then it's in your brain, and the next time you can take a positive step, you look up the price.
landscape?" If it is the year for it, find one little step you can take. One!!! Maybe plant a penstemon in your front yard if you live in CO. they are native flowers with beautiful blooms and they require next to no effort to keep up.
