omg so I was way off lmao. What IS a hard loft and why would anyone want to live there...
without a crumb of context I'm guessing they meant "hard left" and it's a chud talking
all genre fiction is fanfiction now... I saw an interesting editorial about it but the tldr was the commercial success of fic adaptations legitimately changed the landscape of publishing
Common Turner Drake research W but also... oof ouch...
You moving away is starting to feel like a "turn off the lights on your way out" situation ๐ฅฒ

Toronto isn't even that dense relative to its population!
desperately need to go yell at city council but the meeting days overlap with work meetings consistently ๐ญ
This is more in line with what I would expect! The 1 really is a powerhouse wow
VERY SAD but understandable, they do have a lot of draws Halifax doesn't especially for someone in your line of work. Cheaper housing too, I hear. Will make for some interesting compare/contrasts for sure. Good luck with the canal!
Struck by something Austin said recently about council needing to pull together and act like a city. But realistically, HRM isn't a city, it's a regional government that happens to contain one... folks's illusions about that (primarily rural/suburban councilors to be clear) have a lot to answer for.
The only thing that makes getting into muni politics feel more worth it than the other options is that the politicians involved are usually more susceptible to cyberbullying. Downside is you can't be as mean if you have one of the good councilors.
So much reporting is just asking the most reactive members of the general public if they enjoy change and then straightforwardly publishing "dog bites man" style articles about it... hopefully not this time ig!
it's not an optimistic season of the year tbf! I am holding my breath until late June to see if anything shifts, but not hoping for much.
if only the area rates for roads had made it in...
potato stamp timeeeeee
I know it's partly just that my risk tolerance is way too low but I genuinely struggle to imagine who this is for? It reminds me of the secondary suites incentive, policy that feels disconnected from the problem it's meant to address bc facing it head-on would mean spending political capital.
you literally got to experience this post... I am Jealous...
he's been kevinpilled
Good video tho, I've been looking forward to this one since you mentioned wanting to make a Q+A about the first Built To Fail. Delicious food, etc
Also, admittedly speaking from a place of personal distaste towards image generator services, it might have been nice to use the neighbourhood density example photos from the early section instead of the AI-gen icons for different levels of density to help tie those concepts together.
I'm surprised you didn't decide to highlight specific comments for response as chapter headers! Very kind of you considering the tone and content of some of the comments.
really cool post tho
I know designing policy is hard but the MLI Select thing seems like an oversight that should have been caught and fixed quickly (i.e. when it became apparent that it disproportionately benefited areas with high median incomes). "Seems like it should" hasn't ever made a difference before though tbf ๐
honestly seeing this makes me feel so much better about my own reading peaks/valleys... it really is all or nothing based on what's going on
I hope you're right but I worry the median voter's information diet is fully in its post-facts era
would love if he were merely stupid tbh
Wondering if this will impact the sfh purchase market as well... anecdotally it's already looking pretty different from this time last year, but spring will tell
