also i glanced at sptify wrapped and it says i am 17 and love Queralt Lahoz and Mhaol. some of this is true!
like i listen to a LOT of music and the transfer was done before I made a cup of tea
PSA: if you want to leave Spotify but haven't yet, may I recommend Qobuz? better payments to artists, not fascist, actual editorial content, and they have a tie-in to transfer your playlists and saved songs/albums for free
yesss our classic combo was yellow cake with strawberry jello, and then whipped cream as the frosting. absolutely perfect summer dessert.
and after a year of being low-key on the lookout, i thrifted a (machine-made) quilt to turn into a jacket
sewing updates: I am 75% of the way done with a dress but ran out of thread. in the meantime, I started a dress pattern that I manipulated into a shirt instead. i made a mockneck tank out of knit which I have yet to actually wear other than to show my mom
in particular, i recommend doing this while watching ash bentley on youtube
have you guys ever sat on your couch and darned socks? you should try it
extremely co-signed, if you like the sound of "what if studio ghibli adapted jeff vandermeer"
!!!
yeah, i have read TBTIF but it really didn't land with me at all. But I did like the Monk & Robot books!
no!! love a reason to read another le guin, and love that her archives are so deep
good morning
not this one!
sorry this isn't about sewing! a momentary blip
please recommend: a novel which is quiet but still compelling
i expect this will lean litfic but sff would be a nice surprise!
i made 90% of what turned out to be a gigantic tote bag. but my old shower curtain had a very good pattern so it remains a cool bag that I will simply store a toddler in (when I install handles)
it's for a beacon of gondor right
I think I'm going to use this pattern but with actual handles, but other suggestions are welcome

I told my mom about the vintage baseball fabric (which, per a tag still on it, I think was purchased in the decade she was born) and we decided I must make her a tote bag out of it
bless this person who held onto this treasure!
i did!
it's a thrill!!
right???
*flails wildly* oh my god!!!
it's a saturday evening so i may be shouting into the void but i have to shout somewhere, what a COUP
friends, it was NOT remnants i got for $5. i did some rough measurements and it is:
- 5 yds of sthg silky & double-sided
- 5 yds of handpainted? tissue silk sari fabric
- 5 yds of embroidered sari fabric
- 3 yds of adorable vintage baseball cotton
- ??many?? yds of 2 different lace trims
but THIRD, i just happened to bid on a few items in a local estate sale that was closing last night and i WON so i picked them up this afternoon. it was a classic sewing basket (with stuff!!) and "Fabric Remnants: Silks, Cottons, Rayon/Polyester And Lace Embroideries"
second, i got way more buttons than i expected through a buy nothing group this morning, i will never need black buttons again in my life
