Can we all agree that playing football for the full 90 minutes would dramatically improve Ipswich Towns chances of promotion.
Just imagine if ITFC had actually bothered turning up in the first half of both the Leicester and the Stoke game!
I try not to be gloomy about the economy despite significant UK depression. But war hungry leaders, dramatic spikes in energy prices & stock market drops leave me anxious we are about to see things worsen. Some banks wobbling on fixed rates feels like a Truss catastrophe but without the exit plan.
Problem solved thanks to Matusiwa. We will never know.
Absolute class from Matusiwa! Deserved. The patience was starting to go as we moved toward the last 20 mins. Hold it ITFC, don’t let the three points go.
PS let’s hope we don’t have to find out whether it’s terminal!
A dozen games still to play after this means lots more points available. Think back two years and there were lots of points dropped at the top 3 clubs in the run up to our promotion. I think it will be the same this year. A loss would definitely put the odds against us but not terminal.
Huge game this evening for ITFC & Hull. Beating Hull, a very good team, would mean we had a 3 game win streak as we head towards the last dozen games of the season and chase the leaders. A loss won’t be terminal in our chance of automatic but will leave things looking very tricky. Come on you Blues.
We needed the second goal to killl the game off for #ITFC Horst didn’t have to do much for the goal (decent positioning perhaps) but I’m pleased for him as he deserved a bit of luck.
I’m a big fan of Greaves at left wing back. We should play him there more. Delighted for Walle who I rate and think is given unfair stick by some of the fans. Matasuwi (as always) excellent. Solid first half performance from #ITFC. Boro loosing and Hull drawing elsewhere. More of the same please.
I took my Dad on a road trip yesterday to a clock dealer and a bunch of Vulliamy clocks and memorabilia. It was bloody awesome to see the effect of the history, the family heritage, the craftsmanship and the gentle tic-toc of the pendulum on my Dads confidence and outlook. #Vulliamy does #Vulliamy
Absolutely. I will take the small victories and the big wins!
I found out today that my appeal against a parking fine at Leeds Bradford airport was successful and as a result I’m sat here feeling like Saul Goodman plus I’m £160 better off than would otherwise have been the case.
Great fun on the @wonkhe.bsky.social show this week with clever folks. With thoughts on free speech including the irony of Reform Party concerns about not being invited to a student debate at the same time they are alleged to be using several super injunctions.

I’m a little bit surprised it’s only 2 super injunctions lodged by Farage to be honest…..
Just started Small Prophets. Glorious stuff. Wonderful characterisation, a gentle comedy with warmth and depth. I’m only through the first couple of episodes but I highly recommend this.
A catch up on ScandiNoir and foreign drama. Spanish Honor - a father trying to protect his son after an accident and digging deeper and deeper holes 7/10. The Ring, Dutch drama about sexual abuse, power & love 9/10 and finally, Danish psychodrama The Pushover - immaculate, brutal and tense 10/10.
Wearing a blindfold because Norwich were on?
I just think he’s a lot less flashy then Clarke and Philogene who get all the plaudits for their directness, running with the ball at their feet, shots from outside the box etc but Walle has just down the simple things well. Crosses the ball early and well. So young and will keep developing.
Also, do tell me more about your grudge against Bluey?
If we now start to ‘turn it on’ and dominate early, use the squad depth, keep disciplined at the back etc we could fly and McK will look very shrewd but it also feels possible we don’t quite secure the top 2 and he looks a plank if we then blow the play offs.
He has been good, way better than the modest price tag. Not sure how much he will play when Nunez and Philogene back and as Walle matures (who incidentally I really rate even though he gets lots of hate).
A bit of a luxury I felt but useful squad addition, particularly given injuries, a lack of goals distribution in the top half and the way we play. A bit of a bargain when you put his price against some of the other signings. Feels remarkable we are so near the top given a very average season.
Worth bearing in mind that Middlesbrough and Coventry play each other in a fortnight. #ITFC need to keep calm and discaplined and we could do with getting Nunez and Philogene back to make sure we push on through the last 16 games.
Great goal from Leif, just as it was starting to look like Derby could take the points ITFC deliver on a good move. Key, as always, was Clarke refusing to let the ball be taken off him in the build up play.
Everyone seems to be sharing their reflective story about ‘when they met Mandelson’.
I’m delighted I don’t have such a story because I never met him (nor Epstein) and so I never missed the opportunity to address some of his inappropriate attitudes, behaviours and decisions.
Here’s The Boss being a true American patriot. His latest single hits fast and hard on the situation on the other side of the pond. Cracking stuff. open.spotify.com/album/5fto6n...
My intel is that Yorkshire has texted the US to say that because it didn’t win the Super Bowl it intends to annex Massachusetts and they can do it the easy way or the hard way. They have not discounted increased tariffs on Yorkshire pudding and roast beef.
I’m fascinated what the FIFA Board must be thinking right now. Since awarding Trump the Peace Prize their reputation must have suffered deeply. As Trumps hostility to people from overseas grows and he turns state police on civilians the World Cup risk register must be growing in complexity.
