The Tar Heels started the season No. 11, but by mid January had fallen outside of the top 25. A road thumping by Notre Dame when they "didn't get off the bus" was a low point.

The Tar Heels win 74-69. Massive moment for the program, and especially for seniors Indya Nivar and Nyla Harris. UNC is firmly in the hosting conversation now and a sold-out Carmichael crowd is going home happy. Game was on ESPN, too. Not too shabby.
UNC up 52-47 after three quarters. This is a team that wants to host games in March, friends, and they certainly look capable of it right now.
Elina Aarnisalo, the Finnish sophomore/UCLA transfer, is on fire. 9pts in the 3rd, including ANOTHER buzzer beater, 3-3 from outside, and 15pts in the game.
PHENOMENAL response by UNC. Nyla Harris gets 6 points in a row, Aarnisalo gets 4 in the last minute, including a buzzer beater, and Duke only up 14-13 headed into the second.
I'm here in Carmichael for UNC/Duke and it's a PHYSICAL start. UNC's offense from Virginia has not carried over at all. They are rattled. Duke up 10-3 w 4:13 left in the first quarter.
Kara pulled Thomas and Fournier immediately after the got their first fouls, showing faith in Roberson and Woods.

Meanwhile, keeping an eye on UNC/Virginia Tech, which Tech leads 44-42 after 3. Tech is firmly on the bubble, while UNC needs to win out -- and probably get some help -- to have a chance to host. A lot at stake.
At the end of the first quarter, Duke up 28-16. Khamil Pierre is almost single-handedly keeping State somewhat still in this one; she has 10 points, everyone else has 6 combined.
Biggest problem for Duke is Roberson already has 2 fouls, and State does have Tilda Trygger ...
