Reuters: Just one in four Americans supports US strikes on Iran, Reuters/Ipsos poll finds Some 27% of respondents said they approved of the strikes, while 43% disapproved and 29% were not sure. About nine in 10 respondents said they had heard at least a little about the strikes, which began early on Saturday. The poll showed that 56% of Americans think Trump, who has also ordered strikes in Venezuela, Syria and Nigeria in recent months, is too willing to use military force to advance U.S. interests. The vast majority of Democrats - 87% - held this view, as did 23% of Republicans and 60% of people who don't identify with either political party. While 55% of Republicans said they approved of the strikes and 13% disapproved, the Reuters/Ipsos poll found 42% in Trump's party said they would be less likely to support the Iran campaign if it leads to "U.S. troops in the Middle East being killed or injured." Trump's presidential approval rating ticked slightly lower to 39%, one percentage point below a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted February 18-23.
Well, this is the worst sighting of the Crazification Factor we've had in a while. (h/t @johnrogers.bsky.social)

The Scream Norwegian: Skrik, German: Der Schrei der Natur Figure on cliffside walkway holding head with hands Map Wikimedia | © OpenStreetMap Artist Edvard Munch Year 1893; 133 years ago Type Oil, tempera, pastel and crayon on cardboard Movement Proto-Expressionism Dimensions 91 cm × 73.5 cm (36 in × 28.9 in) Location National Museum and Munch Museum, Oslo The Scream is an art composition created by Norwegian artist Edvard Munch in 1893. The Norwegian name of the piece is Skrik ('Scream'), and the German title under which it was first exhibited is Der Schrei der Natur ('The Scream of Nature'). The agonized face in the painting has become one of the most iconic images in art, seen as representing a profound experience of existential dread related to the human condition. Munch's work, including The Scream, had a formative influence on the Expressionist movement. Munch recalled that he had been out for a walk at sunset when suddenly the setting sun's light turned the clouds "a blood red". He sensed an "infinite scream passing through nature". Scholars have located the spot along a fjord path overlooking Oslo and have suggested various explanations for the unnaturally orange sky, ranging from the effects of a volcanic eruption to a psychological reaction by Munch to his sister's commitment at a nearby lunatic asylum. Here the face and arms of the screaming man have been badly replaced with those belonging to the 1983 Official Dungeons & Dragons toy, the Raging Roper

Events like Gen Con owe their community an explanation of how they intend to ensure the safety of convention-goers who may be targeted due to national origin, racial profiling, or “gender policing” in a state like Indianapolis, while justifying their continued presence in such an unwelcoming state.
I'm mostly posting this as a reminder to myself to grab all of this stuff later, but check it out! There's a whole collection of tracks by 20th century electronic music pioneer Delia Derbyshire on the Internet Archive, including loads of stuff I never heard of! archive.org/details/deli...

Daffy is a black-feathered, humanoid duck, standing 4’10” on his flat feet. Adventurers know that Daffy Duck is approaching when they hear the dread cry of “Woo-hoot! Woo-hoo-hoo! Woo-hoo! Woo-hoo!” With this, Daffy cartwheels onto the scene, bouncing as if he were made of springs. He will usually greet strangers with a great show of friendliness, bounding about shaking hands and sputtering flattery and veiled insults. Daffy’s personality is dominated by his insatiable greed, arrant cowardice, and paranoid schizophrenia alternating with megalomania. He has a quick temper, vowing to destroy those who offend him, but flees at the first setback. Daffy lies, cheats and betrays with scarcely a second thought. In fact, he has almost no redeeming qualities. However, it doesn’t really seem to be his fault since the entire world seems to conspire to exasperate him. Daffy’s one great ability is immunity to physical damage. He feels all the pain of bodily damage, but nothing really hurts him for long. It just makes him more exasperated. Daffy Duck can often be found with Bugs Bunny, where he is generally scheming to get whatever Bugs has (or whatever he thinks Bugs has). Though Bugs uses him as a foil, and regularly makes a fool of him, Bugs seems to genuinely like Daffy. — LJS

Hand-drawn illustration of DIY trepanation intended to reduce cranial circulatory pressure, surrounded by cursive notation. "During The Fall of DELTA GREEN era, early LSD experimenter, medical school reject and Amsterdam librarian Bart Huges promoted trepanation as a means to gaining the “third eye” of extrasensory sight. His treatise, The Mechanism of Brainbloodvolume, aka, Homo Sapiens Correctus, appropriately enough appearing in scroll form, posited that by walking upright humans threw their circulatory systems out of whack. The solution? Trepanation! The agents might discover that the true authors of this peculiar theory are inchoate entities seeking either to access the human brain — or to escape it!"
A little Fall of DELTA GREEN inspiration in a new Pelgrane blog post by Robin D. Laws.

By the mid-19th century, _nobody_ wanted to bring up Irish-born signatories to the Declaration of Independence (James Smith, George Taylor, and Matthew Thornton).
Musk would have happily joined the Know Nothings, except he seems to be taking their slogan literally.

One of the Cottingley Fairies photos. A little girl is surrounded by what is very obviously paper cutouts of fairy pictures.
Another of the Cottingley Fairies photos. A little girl is looking at what is, again, very clearly a cutout drawing of a fairy.
Yet another of the Cottingley Fairies photos. Once again a little girl is looking at what is, again, very clearly a cutout drawing of a fairy.
The final Cottingley Fairy photo. This one is supposed to be maintained as real. Again, very clearly paper cutouts. If you go look at the wikipedia page about it you can even see the original drawing from the book they were from.
Whenever people gush over AI I'm going to think about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle being utterly convinced that he'd discovered real scientific evidence of real fairies because he saw these pictures
Within the first minute, he brings up "rapidly reorganizing Western cultural norms", "the rise of AI", and—the biggest tell—"how people use and consume RPG content", like this video was aimed at a LinkedIn audience. (People *play* and *enjoy* *roleplaying games*.)
I suppose that image hit home for me since John Wagner is currently writing his last Dredd story before retirement.
Judge Dredd (art by Brian Bolland): shouts, as he rides out on his large Lawmaster motorcycle: "You forget, Spikes… when someone calls on the Law for HELP… be he mutie… alien… cyborg… or human… THE LAW CANNOT TURN A BLIND EYE! AND I AM THE LAW!"
I didn't expect my reaction, but Dredd looks so … young.
