Another scammer doing the impersonator thing to look out for.

For example I live in a really high cost of living area, and even the most successful webcomics on patreon wouldn't cover costs here. I certainly wouldn't be able to save for retirement or emergencies.

I think it really really depends where you're living and your circumstances.
I don't know anyone's life situation, maybe they have a lot of school debt, or are supporting other family, maybe with medical issues.
I think the fear of being judged in that way is the main reason ppl hide it.

I've started doing full comic pages in my small sketchbook using a template to trace the page size.
There's definitely downsides cause the pages are so small, but if it gets me drawing more.... Maybe that's just how it is. And that's ok!

I know there's good reasons to hide it, but that's my hot take :P
