The tank in Alexandra park would have been interesting to see.

Thanks, that's great and a much more comprehensive story than the one in the other article or newspapers. It is also harder to find, so guess which story is going to be swept up and perpetuated by AI.
There are photographs, from the air, of the park dated c. 1930 which show three objects at the flagpole which could well be two cannon and a mortar. (I'll let it go now)
Is it my overactive imagination, or is that a cannon?
I'm not having a go at you. But, the story now seems to be accepted as fact by the newspapers that a cannon was found in a garden in 2016/17. Only they don't seem to provide any actual evidence of the find.
Doesn't really get started. Alleged source, 2016 M&B Herald story doesn't seem to exist. Linked article says the cannon was found in Bearsden in the 1930's. So what was Mrs Davidson researching in 2017? Something that may have happened in 1930's, without having ever seen the alleged found cannon?
The newspaper stories on the "found" cannon are all oddly vague about the original source. Seems to come from Milngavie & Bearsden Herald which itself refers to a story it originally ran in Feb 2016, only there is no trace of that story in their archives.
Was it you trying to bring canals back?
She is correct re fascinating
Fascinate
• archaic (especially of a snake)
oops, that was supposed to say "turning them on".
Careful, turning them is probably not encouraged these days.

Excellent, as always.
Cimbing masts are still advertised for play areas today. However they are considerably smaller than those depicted in the drawing, even allowing for some exaggeration.
I'm not so sure. There appears to be a child shinning up the centre pole of the right hand three. Perhaps that was what they were for. Simple pleasures!
Fear is in the back seat, loathing in the front.
I think I can forgive him that. It is a remarkable piece of work.
He seems to have got a bit carried away with Walter Scott.
I prefer, cheer up only 39 (obviously a variable number) days to go!
People from Bishopbriggs will be mortified to be called Glaswegian.
Hmmm, how do we know you're not already dead and this is a double bluff?
We only had doocots. Pigeon holes were for posh folks (and academics, obviously).
I still have one of those. I wonder if it's worth more than 18 1/2 p now?
I've never noticed a predominance of cabbages in Beauly. However, I do know it has the shortest public train platform in Great Britain (15.06m, shorter than one train carriage), because someone once made me go and watch a train stop there just to tick it off their list.
Now, that's what I'm here for.
So, has anyone ever gone ski jumping in a wingsuit and if so how far did they go, and more importantly is there any video?
Any idea where in Glasgow that was?
Yeah, true. What would Rod Hull make of Kevin and Joyce?
If you are seeking to present as a credible witness and/or gain sympathy for your case, best not to post footage of you being chased about a field by an emu (yes, even if the claim is that you were attacked by an emu).
As my old auntie used to say, it's all fun and games until someone loses an (third) eye.
