Thinking about this quote from Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi again.

i'm really annoyed the internet has reached a point where people by default think every game is bad, especially with older ones. i get this from random chatters no matter how much i am enjoying myself, streamers have their whole personality revolve around trashing every tiny thing, it's exhausting

I've tried to hand-draw every nook and cranny of the ruins. There are still a couple things to touch up, and I'm sure I made some mistakes; let me know if you notice any. 💕

I don't have a long list of albums that I'm eagerly awaiting, but I've been waiting for this to drop for forever, and I'm so happy it's finally here!

A grandmaster does the same thing as a master wizard, but stacks a bunch of useless spells in front so they can make the actual spell more powerful without it costing as much to cast.

That's the one! I do remember not being very impressed with it, outside of the graphics. Kinda forgot about the log lever but seeing it again made me chuckle!

One of the more odd ones that I vaguely remember was this Dino-based slot game that we had on a shareware cd with mostly educational games on it. Bit of an odd inclusion. Tried to boot up my Win3.11 install on DOSbox to get a screenshot, but it's unfortunately broken :(

I love these early "we figured out we could use samples" style themes in games, they're inevitably off the rails. The theme for savage also comes to mind.

Now that I finally have some time on my hands, I'm spending some time on my latest speedrunning video project I've had on the back burner for a couple months.

Started putting some animated shots together and voilà, a teaser screen

I vaguely remember this one from back in the day. Can't remember if it was on the shareware disk we had at home, or if maybe a friend or family member had it on their pc!

That's a precious dog!

Some games that came to mind:
- Hydra Castle Labyrinth, a metroidvania loosely based on Maze of Galious
- La-Mulana (freeware), an extremely difficult but cool metroidvania. Only for masochists who have aeons of time to spend. A bit tricky to get running on modern windows, WineD3D for windows helps

my secret evil opinion is that being more intentional about what you choose to do/say online even on the smallest scale and less reactionary/compulsive about the metric tons of stuff purposefully made to upset you is a net positive on any website regardless of moderation rules. but what do i know

Very cool! A few years ago I streamed a few of them despite my German being choppy at best. Vision 1 always stuck out to me as an interesting game, would love to see that one translated! I remember that one being quite tricky to try to translate live.

Yeah but kids have this cheat code called insane flexibility 🙃 unfortunately I don't have said cheat, but I will give it a go!
