that's nuts 💀 Like I know we all sign over any and all ownership as artists when we work for big companies, but not consulting the creator (not even to ask for permission, but to make the work the best it can be) is so revealing of where the priorities lie in adapting games, comics, etc.

I haven't watched any of the latest game-movie adaptations aside from uhh, the Sonic movies. Which were dumb fun, I'll admit.

At least the Fallout show is an original story within the universe, rather than a straight adaptation, right? I think that has merit, whereas stuff like the Last of Us show has no reason to exist (beyond tasty profit).

There's something about the current trend of adapting video games into multimillion-dollar films and TV shows while the individuals who made those video games are out of work and struggling and the games industry is actively falling apart that, like, really makes me want to scream into a pillow.

Extreme Long shot but, if anyone visited the Permanent Exhibition at the National Museum of Finland between 1995-2016 and has any pictures of the interpretation panels/display/presentation of the Suontaka sword then I'd be extremely grateful for copies!
