Shhh don't tell anybody!
I'm expecting lightning west of the mississippi sometime during the month of May, I'm fairly confident in this forecast!
I'd call that a mildly interesting pattern...I think we might be a liiiitle bit busy
Chronos 1.4 will be my next camera investment...currently rocking an a7r3 and an ax700 but i want to do far better for slow motion in the future. Any tips for 1.4 usage i should know about?
What DSLR and high speed camera are you using? These shots are amazing
Need storm
5/18/23
Can't wait to be in front of something like this again. Especially when it's moving at 10 mph...lol
Not my fault you're uncultured. Valentina on eggs >>>
My lockscreen is structure and my background is lightning, does that count?
Going through severe storm derangement syndrome right now...can't wait for plains season.
Taken with my pixel East of Pampa, TX on a 0 tor 5/17/23...wishing i had my A7RIII at that time. Manifesting views like this for 2025.
When I read this bill I already took this conclusion away from it, however I'm still glad they're spelling it out more explicitly.
Still not exactly happy this gives idiots like Val/Amy an excuse to run others off the road even more often, but meh, it could be way worse.
If you're talking about extremely pissed....enjoy

Spacex literally caught the largest booster ever made on the launch tower, yet this app is calling spacex a failure because their extremely ambitions experimental vehicle is experiencing experimental failures. Critical thinking in spaceflight doesn't exist when spacex is involved, apparently...
Seeing the clips now, certainly FTS. Thinking a little more, it's unlikely sensors in raptors wouldn't stop a fuel-depletion stoichiometric scenario within the turbopumps, but fuel depletion could very well be the reason we saw cascading engine shutdown prior to FTS.
My guess is a Fuel Leak. Look how fast the CH4 depletes at the tail end of this clip. Upon freezing there's almost no CH4 left. Thinking fuel depletion leading to engines getting closer to stoichiometric, most likely leading to the turbopumps melting (if they weren't just getting shut down)

If only i had the camera gear i have now and not nothing more than my samsung galaxy s20 FE....sigh
#tornadotuesday Morton was fun...I loved the fact I ended up with dust in my underwear after getting blasted by the RFD surge during its development...
It's more expectation over value. There's a huge difference between a school like OU and a school like OSU. At OSU, you generally have top 5 personnel in the country, or at minimum, access to such. The expectation is more in line with the level of Personnel and NIL money, which is reasonable to me.
That good ole "funnel stupid amounts of money into contractors while they have zero incentive to do things on time or on budget" and then "why are we behind schedule and over budget????"
just typical high plains deviant supercell sounding, nothing to see here.
I will not accept dissent to the opinion of "nuclear cool pls develop" as it's obviously invalid.

I detest how accurate this is.
Granted i would love to see nuclear powered engines just for the cool factor.
I might be the crazy one for saying the 22Z sounding is better. Those surface thermodynamics are insane and will stretch vorticity extremely efficiently. That plus the dry slot aloft and insane venting...what a great setup.
Yes this was for sure post sunset, but my point was moreso that iirc it was rain-cooled as well. This setup was actually a little unusual amongst typical coldcore setups, as lower-mid 60s SFC temps and 200+ SRH are unusual amongst traditional coldcore.
Interesting to note that this is most likely rain cooled. IIRC, SFC temps in the WS were in the low 60s - which meant 8C LLLRs and 150+ 3cape. With good ambient 0-1 shear (unusual for coldcore), great venting, and strong DPVA, it's no wonder these storms weren't even boundary dependent to spam tors.
Dreamwake is CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED. LISTEN TO THIS BAND!!!! Saxophone wavecore is the new metal archetype I didn't know I needed.

I just fell to my knees in a walmart
THANK YOU finally somebody who agrees with me. I'll take good structure over a wispy nebulous birdfart any day of the week and it's not even close.
