most of the comments on bora bora honeymoon are positive because a lot of artists wanna live in a world where retired industry animators in their 60s can spend 4 years making completely unmarketable fetish animations. aspirational content

part 6 was almost for real lesbian and i hate that it got censored

i think it's closer to cringe reaction content. Like, you perform disgust at something you don't like for content, and telling your audience that it's ok to react like that to those kinds of things and to never ever be like those things.

pinning fat bodies as being innately fetishistic anytime they're portrayed neutrally, positively, or even as passively attractive is fatphobic.

take it from me then: a few of the characters are simply cartoonishly fat. While it may have some appeal to fetishistic attraction that does not by itself make it fetish material. like is it fetish material everytime someone burps or has their feet out or whatever?

one commenter even pointed this out, the only correction i'd make is that this is about american tourists actually.

it'd be on the nose racial commentary if it wasn't trying to portray this consumption as hot for the main characters to do. It's a common trope in porn to portray tropical places like this and i do think it's reflective of broader societal attitudes vis-à-vis tourism and (sexual) exploitation

the one thing i will call bora bora honeymoon out on is that it's kinda racist, i think. it portrays the tropical location as a vacation paradise and nothing else, the american tourists at some point explicitly consuming the "polynesian dancers".

not helped by the fact that people still largely view fat people as having done it to themselves and view weight loss as this totally possible thing that every fat person just hasn't tried hard enough to do

part of the problem is that fat people are not commonly viewed as a legitimate oppressed group, like asserting that they are has some people reacting like i'm saying something completely insane and out of left field

it's weird to see someone do the "how come drawing skinny characters as fat is ok but drawing the reverse is bad?" thing.

all I will say to that is fat bodies are still heavily marginalized and stigmatized. that's it. there's nothing greater to it.
