Weird the Department of Homeland Security isn't blaming AI for their layoff of one person today
A (faked) screenshot from the Oura mobile app. It's titled "Symptom Radar," and says "Major signs. Your biometrics continue to show major signs of something straining your body. Keep taking care and rest if youβre feeling low on energy." The background is a dark cemetery, with a deep grave and earthworms visible. There are Oura metric scores listed at the top. From left to right: Readiness (score 51), Sleep (74), Activity (71), Heart rate (66).
I'm loving it. I enjoyed people management, but that's not why I got into this industry. Creating stuff is.
I actually went back to engineering as a result of all this! No more people management for now. Rediscovered my love of creation. Working as a partner in a little startup firm, trying to stay out in front of this wave. Having a blast.
This is the problem with blog posts in this era. Everything's out of date three days later. You should create an openclaw skill that constantly revises your blog posts based on the latest from various subreddits. What could go wrong?
All the esoteric tidbits you have to know and annoying boilerplate setup no longer matter, and all that's left is creation. It's amazing.
It was used a surprising amount inside Google.
If you want to aim towards the future, openclaw on a mac mini
Lighting: Lutron
Shading: hunter douglas or Lutron
Everything else: anything but nest, Yale
Integration: homebridge + HomeKit if iOS. Home assistant works well (and uses polymer/lit last I checked) but is def for people into the details. But set up right you can sorta use any integration layer.
Iβm keeping things on device and very very locked down.
Super close to what I created with openclaw! My backup brain and memory.
Gotta hide the strategically enhanced schlongs.
Clearly an ai hallucination
Wait what?
What?
Yup. And when the pendulum swings back politically (π€π€π€), suddenly their government contracts will be at risk due to all that crap
Yup. I hold out hope eventually the house of over leveraged cards tumbles, and good stuff like SpaceX doesnβt get taken down in the process.
Itβs just an excuse to raid spacexβs revenue for his propaganda machines.
Genuinely strong desire to rickroll you right now
When my team worked with them closely on the crew dragon several years back, everyone on the SpaceX team was awesome. And even then they were partly consumed every day by managing around his whims.

There is no writer better at deftly yet savagely allowing SF politicos to show themselves than @heatherknightsf.bsky.social at the moment.

Iβm just going to tell the story. Back in 2000 I was volunteering for the Gore campaign when he came along with Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Alfre Woodard and Dule Hill to a GOTV event here in MN. He ended up sitting down across from me stuffing his envelopes.
β¦And I watched the visitor perform a flawless ruse. He went and grabbed another random toy and came and dropped it in front of my dog, who fell for it. Visiting dog, tail wagging, claimed his well-earned prize.
My dogβs best friend is visiting. They get along as well as two dogs ever could - genuinely friends. That said, they still always want whatever toy the other has. Tonightβs prized possession is a boneβ¦
Itβs crazy.
Itβs not even trash pickup day - why is there a dumpster blocking the sidewalk?
Just like god (Julia Child) intended.
Long tail tech >> big tech
Iβm pretty sure HSBC is a an airport jetway manufacturing company. Their name is on nearly every one of them.
