Well the Leafs wound up scoring 2 goals on the ensuing major, which George Parros will undoubtedly deem ample punishment for a player like Gudas who has no history of dirty play.

Goal of the year, right?

Yeah, I thought Kaliningrad was a suburb of Moscow -- whoops. Also guessed the wrong side of Lake Victoria in situating Kenya. 908.

I think the strongest (or one of the strongest) correlations with voting for Trump was education, no? Seems like that could be a common factor, here.

I worried about that, too. But it’s not as though the revelations of heinous child abuse and war crimes have let up. And now with gas going through the roof, I bet we see a lot more cancelled vacations and even less movement.

Like I guess pesto would count??

Ours is definitely Italian, but I really don’t use a lot of spice blends, so this doesn’t really represent what I do a night-to-night basis. Most curries (Thai, Indian, whatever), stir-frys, or Mexican or South American food is all homemade seasonings.

I don’t do it often, but when I was on pat leave (with my wife home as well) I would occasionally just need to get out of the house, and a moment of quiet with a beer in a dank bar where I knew I wouldn’t know anyone was a perfect 20-minute mini holiday.

Ah, sorry. Yeah. Well, seeing the worst in everything is an important lesson you can take from being a fan of this team that you can apply to anything in life. Like I unfortunately did with your comment. And everything else, I suppose. Go Leafs Go.

Or maybe what they say when they can’t take it anymore

My comment was anything but a sunk-cost fallacy. It was an acknowledgement that it was a ridiculous price to pay at the outset and that what they got back was a pretty reasonable return.

There’s no sense being mad that all Treliving could get for Laughton was a 3rd rd pick β€” that’s what he’s always been worth.

What should make Leafs fans really mad was the price he paid to acquire him.

07.03.2026 03:52 πŸ‘ 10 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Eh, they could maybe trade the picks they got for players. But they didn’t sell nearly enough to turn this thing around. So. (Shrug.)

I meant as of the end of it, which is why I only included the Stetcher pickup.

Welp. Fire Brad Treliving. Right now. A potato will do exactly as well as he could between now and the end of the season. In fact, it would have done exactly as well as him since last offseason, minus exactly one waiver pickup.

The supposed explosion of the federal public service looks less explosive if you put it in per capita numbers and draw a line graph back to the mid-80s.

Shoutout to my guy Nicolas Roy who was a francophone (and his case QuΓ©bΓ©cois) Leafs fan because he grew up with a poster of this guy on his wall. We are a small brotherhood, indeed.

I think Nicolas Roy is a much better player than he was able to show under Craig Berube, so I don't celebrate his departure. But I do think picking up a 1st (late as it may be), plus a 5th is decent business, and could serve the Leafs well in the future.

I mean 50/50 Dreger is just parroting some garbage the Blues threw at him, but still.

As a Leafs fan approaching 40 years old, it doesn’t *feel* like such stupidity was so long ago, you know?

02.03.2026 19:54 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

It’s Dreger, so (shrug). Could just be the Blues trying to juice the market. Treliving could legitimately be that stupid. Or maybe ownership is playing a greater role than we know and refusing to sell assets. Who knows.

It’s like staring at the Grand Canyon of Stupidity, its magnitude truly too difficult to behold all at once. A Kantian sublime.

Rogers IS the Leafs and the broadcast. They don’t need to create a new network because they already are the network.
