Today I want to talk about Jess’ Rule and Martha’s Rule, two new initiatives across NHS England that I think are really important and you should know about.
Tl;dr: if your symptoms are not improving or getting worse, at home or in hospital, you have the right and Drs the responsibility to review.

Large pink sign - Oxford Women against the far right - refugees are welcome here. a second sign - Justice for all victims. No to racism.
Women Against the Far Right are today protesting at Oxfordshire County Court at the presence of the group Oxfordshire Patriots. The group say the Oxfordshire Patriots have been racialising sexual violence against women and girls as part of a campaign to whip up racism against migrants and refugees.
Your regular reminder that the UK is in fact a high trust society and anyone who implies it isn’t is either selling you a pup or has bought one.

The funding gap between Reform UK and the Greens is astounding.
New Electoral Commission stats today reveal the reportable donations in Q4 2025:
🟢 Green Party: £189,010
🟣 Reform UK: £5,456,000
Greens are bringing in barely 3.5% of Reform UK's large donations - but still polling around 20%.
Deluded. Labour lost about ten points during the course of the 2024 campaign. A strategic triumph it was not.
Thoughts & prayers to the EPA :(
I honestly believe Farage's undoing will be how twitchy and defensive and huffy he gets at the slightest bit of what he perceives as criticism. He's even worse than Starmer with it.
Thanks Gareth.
Even further and faster than I expected. news.sky.com/story/greens...
This is important. Reform keep taking positions that are only supported by the 25% of the electorate they already have and in doing so are negatively polarising everyone else against them.
Are the Liberal Democrats on a recruitment drive today? For the Green Party?
This is trash. I respect our Oxfordshire Lib Dems as they are delivering progressive transport policy which favours walking, cycling and buses (see congestion charge).
But this national LD nonsense? No. Public Transport costs have risen far faster than driving, we need to rebalance.
Thank you email for joining the Green Party
Just joined UK’s Green Party for a few reasons. Starmer himself suggested ppl like me leave the Labour Party when he assumed leadership. Request granted. But the Greens’ recent success & polling (and more importantly their policy goals!) show them to be robust & viable.

Clear cynical populism from the LibDems here. Driving has been disproportionately subsidised for far too long already!
The choice is stark. Reform are the party of foreign wars and high bills.
The Greens want de-escalation and energy security through renewables. Solar and wind prices don't fluctuate when rogue US presidents launch illegal bombing campaigns.
A headline from GB News stating: Motorists switch to using public transport to avoid paying £5 daily congestion charge
In shock news, motorists have switched to public transport to avoid paying the Oxford Congestion Charge.
A spokesperson* said: "This is exactly what was meant to happen, and it did."
I really hope the good number of @libdemsoxon.bsky.social who are good on sustainable transport can get their national party to change course on this.
It's economically, environmentally & morally illiterate.

Absolutely not! What a terrible, terrible, polluting campaign from @libdems.org.uk

I support Labour's policy change (it should go further)

The sensible political reaction to global events, the only sensible reaction, is to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. Not double down on a policy that has slowed public transitions markedly.
Short termism is part of what got us into such a mess, it is not part of the solutions.
well well well. look who else is on the side of drivers.
I completely agree.
We need to put houses where jobs are and vice versa.
Oxford doesn't necessarily need more jobs - it absolutely needs more housing.
The City can't keep unilaterally approving new employment sites &expect the Districts to provide (all) the housing.
We need more joined up thinking.
+4!!!!
This is the first time we've ever been second in a YouGov poll.
And only two points behind Reform.
Politics can be different. We can make change happen. I feel more hopeful than I have in a long time - and more nervous too.
Isn't it just! I've been giddy with joy about it since Friday.
They remind me of the Powerpuff girls -in the best possible way.
So proud of our Green MPs - congratulations Hannah!
sewage in brook.
Abingdon Green Party candidate Aidan Reilly has called on Thames Water to clean up a sewage filled watercourse just south of the town. Thames Water data shows it has been dumping raw sewage into Oday Hill Ditch alongside Peep-O-Day Lane for hundreds of hours in February alone.
"But Starmer can't do anything"
Literally every time this is said we can point to Pedro Sánchez
