Each time I see such a comment I have to remind myself that school shootings are a thing in the USA…

I’ve always said it: “I won’t buy an EV until it’s able to charge as fast as I refuel my ICE”. So that might be a game changer for me.
Provided the region where I live starts having enough fast chargers on its highways, because they’re awfully late on that front.
Love the naïveté. “Oooh, people had bumper stickers so -nobody- supported Khomeini!”
Pol. Sci. Graduate, with a major in International Affairs Management here.
Go back to sleep please
And what about the eggs, by the way? Cheaper yet? Remember how they were making a fixation on that?
My point, to simplify is as much as possible was this: Carter’s mistake was to meddle with the situation.
Should he have let things unfold “naturally” that there would’ve been a smaller chance to see a theocracy in Iran. Possibly a USSR-aligned regime, I agree. But we’ll never know.
Never said the days of the Shah regime were not numbered. And people didn’t outright -say- Khomeini was a “spiritual Gandhi”, you’re right, but they presented him as a benign spiritual leader that, indeed, would be malleable.
When in power he went “thanks for your services” and set up his regime.
And he, amongst MANY in the Western countries, propped Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomenei as a kind of “spiritual Gandhi”.
Everyone, including students Marxist organisations, supported him believing he’d be a benevolent guide.
One year later, there was the “Hostages Crisis”.
Ah. No but he did make a mistake. Which was to remove, in 1978, all support to the Shah of Iran due to concerns over human rights violations by his regime and secret police (which, to be fair, were legitimate).
Which caused the Iranian Revolution.
I would like to but I am doubtful. Law Enforcement Agencies around here receive parts of those files, from the US DOJ.
And only the names of EU associates and victims of Epstein are unredacted in said parts. Anything that implicates US citizens is -not- transferred to us. So yeah, doubtful.
“It’s a small price to pay for the US and World safety”
Fuck you Herr Trump. We, the world, didn’t ask you to attack Iran and didn’t feel threatened by it!
The World didn’t ask for this attack so how can this buffoon talk like that?! Messianic complex much?!
Oil at €115 a barrel and he calls it “A small price to pay for the safety of the US and the World”.
The “World” didn’t feel insecure and didn’t ask you to attack Iran, Herr Trump! You did it for yourself and because Bibi asked you to!
Where I love in the EU, Diesel is about to breach €2 a litre, E98 isn’t far and E95 went from €1.51 a litre to €1.67 in 4 days.
For Diesel, that’s (very, very roughly) around $8 a gallon.
Trump: “We will not allow China to set foot in this hemisphere, and that includes Panama!”
Hey, Drumpf! You… know what’s a hemisphere, right? That it’s not just East/West?
AFAIK, China and the USA are both in the Northern hemisphere, but what do I know, I’m no “stable genius”…
EV’s don’t scare me, and as city cars they’re perfectly legitimate. I don’t deny their absolute usefulness in many situations.
I just don’t like when people say “great machine!” about them. I collect cars for fun and there’s nothing great to an EV compared to, for example, my E30 M3.
“Rides so beautifully”…
As a “way of transportation”, a way to go from point A to point B, yes, surely.
As something to interact with, to feel when you nail an apex perfectly, then downshift quickly to launch yourself in the next straight… no, sorry.
Each time I see a picture of one, from whatever angle, I can’t help but be grateful these monstrosities on wheels aren’t allowed on EU roads!
Took on educating the neighbourhood in fine music.
Queen “Greatest Hits I & II” is on today.
Yamaha amp at 20, Bose speakers doing their job.
You’re welcome, neighbours.
Someone took a page out of Putin’s “Special Operation” book, I see…
I sometimes put it on YouTube just for the chills. It’s -that- powerful.
As a Belgian… same. Used to have a map of the USA in my bedroom, with pins on the places I wanted to visit. Now… I’ve been telling my own kids we’ll postpone that trip to NY for some more years.
Diesel yesterday where I live: €1.59 a litre / $6,98 a gallon
Diesel today: €1.719 a litre / $7,54 a gallon
Here we go again, back in 2022.
Windows Defender: “Aaaaahhh, you got countless threats on your device!!!”
Me, trying to make a Kali Linux Bootable USB: 🙄
Goddammit! Even with Zadig, that Ubertooth One doesn’t want to show itself so I may install its driver.
Smells like the Demo laptop will have to be set to Kali Linux if I want those tools to work. And for that… I need boss’ approval. Wee…
People being as useful as usual.
I want to use Ubertooth One for demo purposes. I have no choice (corporate decision) but to use a Win-based computer.
Asking in the forums: “How to setup a Ubertooth One on Windows?”
Reply: “Use a Kali you N00b!”
If I could I would. Fuck you people.
I need more LEGO sets.
But I’ve run out of shelf space and wife isn’t keen on me replacing some of our potted plants with Botanical sets.
Damn.
Never tell me the odds.
It is but everyone ends up calling him “Threepio”, phonetically speaking.
Ah, “justthenews”.
