I’ve been reflecting on which of my past projects were most aligned with my artistic direction, and where the collaborations that fizzed with creative energy. I want to manifest more of this!
The reason I am still writing this post, is that I do believe that we have to have the space to talk about it. We have to say out loud that we still have value and truly feel it.
Even now, writing this post, there’s a part of me shouting “don’t talk about your mental health, you’ll never get hired again!”
My confidence was shattered and even though I’m an advocate for mental health, I felt so much embarrassment and failure for not being able to tough it out, as is expected in this high pressure, fast paced industry.
So 2024 was a tumultuous year for me and I unfortunately suffered a mental health crisis that meant I had to take a step back from working for 6 months. For a long while it did feel to me that I would not be able to return to the creative scene.
