I hate it.
I hate it.
These are the 4 things AI can do well:
β’Clean up your email inbox (badly)
β’Give my shittiest neighbor (Alan) something to talk about at a party
β’Tell a 12 yr old to kill himself
β’Incinerate a school at 10:16 AM on a Tuesday
You can see why we need to base our economy around it
We love a shout out.
Too many!
Every time someone thinks Iβm too hard on AI itβs because they see it as a tool and I see it as a threat to culture, society, and humanity. Itβs a βguns donβt kill people, people kill peopleβ defence. Both things kill people.
All these companies are like "We can't just turn these chatbot services off," really, I'm old enough to remember Vine
Donβt worry Canadians. Weβre not much better. Our βliberalβ party is centre-right neoliberal ghoul factory and if this NDP leader vote doesnβt work out, weβll end up strategically voting ourselves into a similar void.
I dunno call me crazy but like if you have two parties in a representational democracy who refuse to represent the wishes of the people who elected them then I guess you just donβt have a democracy and maybe thatβs something worth thinking about, hey?
Today I heard a 22yo explain that their generation has a general understanding that the world and future weβve given them sucks really bad so theyβre just going to try to be honest and kind with each other and try to avoid the rest of us.
Honestly, this just seems correct and wise all around.
You know weβre so far out from the cultural relevance of the tabloid newspaper but when you think about heβs always kind of talked like the cover of one.
Holt is so full of shit. Iβd be angrier if it wasnβt so fucking predictable. This lawyer class of executive ghouls canβt wrap their brains around the concept the degrading trust in public services paves the way for fascism and inequality.
Almost every single government of NB in my lifetime has made cuts in health, education, or both. Itβs like no government can fathom the kinds of things that make people move to a province or want to stay in one. Itβs fucking baffling.
Iβm gonna go out on a limb and says itβs all three but letβs not forget this is the same group of folks who gave the Irvings about this same amount of money to help them with *tariffs* because they are also toadies and cowards.
The Liberal government of NB is proposing to sabotage our thriving higher ed sector.
It's hard to tell if this is incompetence, malice, or neoliberal disaster capitalism.
Regardless, it's not too late to turn back.
@kristiallain.bsky.social and I explain for @canadiandimension.bsky.social.
fucking genocidal
excited to hear tech companies will now be allowed to build their own power plants for their data centers. i am sure the makers of "the app that tells kids to kill themselves" will responsibly operate coal plants
Guys out here treating souped-up auto-correct like fancy tamagotchis I swear to god weβre just so unbelievably fucked.
I mean, sure. Yes. Itβs not like theyβre not full of bad-faith ghouls. Anyway, I think we can probably just dump the whole spectrum of people who look to be elected in representational democracy who have no interest in representing the people who vote for them.
Neoliberals are a curse on a functioning society. Itβs just a different kind of conservative. Even more sinister when they sell you on big lies. The conservatives are gross, but at least they tell you with a straight face what they mean to ruin.
Now weβre talking.
a werewolf in front of a house wearing a βBE MINEβ heart and holding a sign that reads βTHE ONLY THING MORE POWERFUL THAN HATE IS LOVEβ above a photo of bad bunny
a neighbor set up this werewolf for halloween and instead of taking it down they just update it with seasonal outfit changes. now itβs dressed for valentineβs day and holding a sign with a picture of bad bunny and his super bowl slogan. i love him.
so you can't trust the output, there's no way to fix it so you can, and using it to replace people who know how to do things will result in people relying on it more with less ability to know when it's wrong
βWeβre about to witnessβ¦β
No we arenβt. Not even a little.
There's a reason ACAB is so catchy.
Team sports can be such a fucking cult. A bunch of kids with no read on the power dynamic listening to a guy who, and let's be honest here, can easily be a ghoul and receive the benefit of the doubt from parents and administration. I don't know how coaches became more important than kids.
All you need is a grant application that isn't bullshit!
"Ohhh, apple news is biased against Brietbart", yeah man. It's called apple NEWS. Not apple propaganda newsletters.
Like your stuff is buried in algos because it isn't journalism. It isn't scholarship. It's not GOOD. It's not because you're right wing. It's because you're BAD AT IT. It's because you do the thing poorly.
I feel like one of the more incredible right wing grifts is the "we don't get stuff because people are biased" tantrum. You know, when *I* don't get something I usually assume it could have been better written or more rigorous. I look at what the standards for publication are. I like, think?
