I can't stop looking at the images taken by ISS astronauts during the Nov 11-13 G4 event. Here, I have taken a screenshot from Jonny Kim's video showing a SAR arc detached from the main auroral oval.
La luz de la Facultad de Geología de Oviedo es preciosa 🥰
Qué bien que tú sí apuntas 😅
I took this picture while ago and I love it!
Out soon: Exploring Ethnography of Outer Space: Methods and Perspectives, featuring my chapter "Anthropologists in outer space: Science fiction, infrastructure, comparison." A huge thanks to the editors for making this happen!

The symbol of Queer Wrath. A rainbow of Tibetan and Nepali inspired flames over a triangle showing Black, Brown, and Trans colors.
2025 will not be the year of New Year's resolutions.
Only New Year's revolutions.
This is exciting. We’re hiring a new lecturer in STS. Let me know if you want to discuss, and please repost and share.

The failure of the polls in the Presidential election of 1048 had many consequences, not all of them grave. Whether the events of November 1948 cut down the expansion of opinion research into new areas or seriously damaged the prestige of social psychology is something that cannot yet be judged
The pollsters over-reached the capabilities of the poll as a predicting device. THe election was so close that it is unlikely that there was justification on the part of polls to publish a flat prediction concerning outcome.
Reading a 1950 Annual Review of social psychology, and struck by the extended discussion of the "failure of the polls" vis a vis 1948 presidential election (Famous "Dewey Beats Truman" photograph). Time is a flat circle.
How to use 3d printing for anthropology?
Suggestions? Thoughts?

One of the best things about 3D printing is to be able to contemplate later your artwork!

Two years into the AI boom, it's imperative we understand the true power of "AGI"—as a narrative tool useful for winning investment, talent and headlines.
My report for AI Now details how OpenAI used the story of a rising AI that will replace humans to replace the need for an actual business model.

These days I'm in Sweden in a Writing Retreat organised by @ellietheelement.bsky.social and @rekapatriciagal.bsky.social working in some feminism and outer space texts.
The venue is just stunning 😍!

One of these craters is not like the others! It was made by the impact of the 3rd stage of the Saturn V, which launched Apollo 13 towards the Moon. Can you see the crater with the S-IVB?

You can download Mars data from Orbital Data Explorer. There you have MOLA / HRSC / Viking maps :)
Out of the 1,578 cataloged and named craters on the lunar surface, 32 are named after women – that is barely 2%. SETI Artist in Residence Program Director Bettina Forget decided to highlight the issue through her artwork. 🧪 #PlanetaryScience #WomenInStem
Since I have some new followers, I'm reposting my latest video made with SOHO images, where you can watch the Halloween Comet disintegrating as it gets devoured by the sun!
What does this evoke for you?

Last day talking about society and politics of outer space.
Great place to discuss other narratives of outer space explorarion!
Together with @drspacejunk.bsky.social, @electricarchaeo.scholar.social.ap.brid.gy, Chantal Brousseau, and Salma Abdullah, I published the first results from an archaeological experiment in space, which we performed on the ISS in 2022 journals.plos.org/plosone/arti...
Your book is amazing! Thank you for your work 😍
Esto no es un fallo del sistema, es el plan.
More lunar exploration meaning less Moon... farther and lesser Moon
since i've suddenly got some followers, here's a short lil primer on space anthropology and a course we taught on it on Poland:
