In the last year I switched teams from accellerationist leaders to cautious experimenters. The dissonance I felt in the jump between those teams and leaders was startling. The arms race forbids nuanced perspectives unfortunately.

Has someone done a good compendium of research on visual perceptions that are culturally dependent / vary clearly by culture in surprising ways? Would be useful for design. Fwiw nearly everything about understanding visualization is of course about aquired literacy. 📊

@figma.com I’m building charts in our library and I love Grid! Q: Since cells can’t have strokes, I need objects in the cells to add grid lines in X&Y axis charts like a scatterplot. But then the cells are occupied and chart marks don’t resize appropriately. What’s the fix?
