No one said a word. I read excerpts from the forums on the coco.fr site: 'Hi, I'm looking for a distributor to show off my slut on demand.' Can this kind of thing happen to anyone? Is every man regarded by his wife as a 'nice guy liable to rape her and brag about it online? I watch them going by, men, on the street, in the subway. How about him: do you think he thinks dead girls are hot? And him? Nowhere is safe. You get paranoid. No, it's not paranoia, you know the figures, it's worse than that."
I just finished @manongarcia.bsky.social's Living with Men. I highly recommend, though it's disturbing and challenging stuff. What it captures, and refuses to dispel, is a sense of being genuinely adrift if you refuse to flinch from what you on some level know must be true of many men around you.

Book pub anniversary, post 3: We need more books on Black CW Memory and not less. I discussed communities that I knew intimately & left plenty of breadcrumbs for future scholarship. One point that scholars have picked up on is the tendency to reduce Black Civil War Memory to counter-memory. 1/2
