Minecraft 26.1's first pre release allows you to change how quick the daylight cycle is using the /time command.
I wonder how immersive this could be with Vibrant Visuals and a slower daylight cycle. I'll surely try it out in survival through commands once VV comes to Java.
You are correct that there are too many hidden things in Minecraft and we're working on that. The example you use is not something a new player should care about, though. It could even be a problem if we overwhelm players with information about things that aren't helpful in the moment.

Bedrock releases updates more frequently, so version 26.20 is actually the in between update between the Tiny Takoever drop (version 26.10) and Drop 2 (version 26.30). Also, hotfixes (26.11, 26.12, etc.) can still happen anytime

Minecraft is much about setting your own goals, so I'm worried that a feature like this will put too much focus on finding mobs. (The exception right now is achievements/advancements.) I think a feature like this works best as a mod or add-on, for people who wants it.
