Jersey girl,Public Library Information Assistant, yarnie, crafter, baker, pretty damn good cook, Mom to 4 wonderful men and 2 amazing daughters in law. According to my husband my superpower is creating a delicious meal out of whatever I find in the fridge.
I've been making bread/rolls/bagels etc for almost a year now. #GBBO is bread week and suddenly words like claggy and under proofed are running on a loop in my head. Thankfully Paul and Prue are not my dinner guests tonight.
What a blast it'll be when patrons come to the library insisting that we must have these books or we have to order them. Summer of he11 coming right up.....
I dodged a bullet for sure. I married my husband 2½ years later and we'll mark 36 years this year.
She was 19 and pregnant, he was 30 (I was 23). His sister told me that part a few months later. She and I got along. Put every single thing behind me and moved forward.
Did that in 1987, 6 weeks before the wedding. Invites out, etc. He lived 10 hrs away; I was going to move there. I called his house, a female answered. She said that she's his fiancee. I ended it that day.There was no other option. Found out later that he wasn't going to come up for the wedding.
I hope he's really careful when he comes back to the states.
I filmed it. The fly eventually climbed up my arm, to my shoulder then flew off. Happy Mother's Day, Mom.
Before my mom died, she told us that she'd visit us as a single fly. Today, for the 3rd time in 12 years, she visited.
This fly was at the sliders to the patio. My dog was barking at it. I put my hand on the rug and it hopped on. I walked into the living room with it on my hand.

Treated myself to a year of BritBox. All 14 seasons are there. 3 or 4 90 minute episodes per season.

Watching Vera on BritBox, crocheting, finishing taking down decorations. In 2017 I had my gallbladder out on 1/20 at noon. Out cold. Wish my appendix was wonky so I could repeat that experience.

I love wandering the aisles, knowing that it's my job to wander the aisles and help our patrons find what they're looking for.

The limits are decent, but we're finding people binge-borrowing at the end of the month to use their 5 monthly borrows. We THINK that's the issue.
Our patrons are hitting the "collective limit" earlier and earlier. On 12/31 I tried to borrow at 9:00 am and the limit was reached. Waiting to see what kind of increase we'll be facing. Glad the decisions about this are wayyyyy above my pay grade.

I'm a Sunday Info Assistant (don't have an MLIS). We welcome the public 7 days a week. Come in, study, read, work at the jigsaw puzzle table, borrow books, cake pans, a Hotspot, an iPad, a puzzle, a DVD. We love having you in the library!

Cake pans at mine! I was cleaning out my pans, shortly after I started working there. I wrote a proposal first a collection and helped shape policy. I can always borrow a pan I need and I gained space. Our patrons gained access to 30 cake pans!
My thought exactly
Take a class, go to a lecture (or Zoom into one), attend a performance. Doing those things as well as borrowing boosts our stats.
I watched this video and then I started creating my gnome clan. I'll be doing this for the adult craft program I run at the library.
