Fantastic!
Fantastic!
We work in the dark – we do what we can – we give what we have. Our doubt is our passion, and our passion is our task. The rest is the madness of art.

Social Media and liberal democracy are incompatible.
I love this album.
Such depths, absolutely magnificent.
Das ist der Zusammenbruch des amerikanischen Gewaltmonopols.
This development is insane.
Interesting!
What is your take on the rise in French 10y?
Agree that anti-green rhetoric is against Germany's economic interests, as the leading clean tech manufacturer in the G7.
If this government cares about growth, it should want this sector to succeed.
Do think some clean tech industrial policy is coming if only for defence purposes (batteries).
Bar chart titled “Motivating Issues” showing how different Democratic policy priorities motivate voters to support Democrats in the 2026 elections. Top issues include affordable health insurance (62% very motivated), tax enforcement on wealthy cheats (62%), preventing tax hikes on working families (60%), and lowering prices by stopping price gouging (60%). Bars are color-coded by intensity: very, somewhat, not too, and not at all motivated.
Bar chart showing reasons Biden skippers cited for not voting in 2024. The top reason (16%) was that Kamala Harris lacked a strong plan to lower the cost of living, closely followed (15%) by concerns she didn’t address poverty and inequality. Other reasons include weak leadership, courting Republicans, and stances on Gaza, immigration, guns, and transgender rights. A note highlights that Republicans, Latinas, and middle-aged voters were most likely to cite these concerns.
Fascinating survey data on the missing Biden voters by Lake Research. The voters who sat out in '24 weren't looking for a centrist or turned off by trans rights. They want a genuine economic populist agenda: take on corporate greed, lower costs, and make the wealthy pay their fair share.
Certainly a point....
...but I have my doubts about this methodology 😉

That's a crazy amount!
Over what time period?
Naval power is back...but it actually never left.

Well, it tells you something about Putin....
But it also tells you something about the Olympics.
Israel (and now the United State) are engaged in preventive war...and not for the first time.

What's at stake if the US does join in Israel's War with Iran?
To put it simply, I may have to consider changing "not" to "and" in this headline. Why? Because like the early 1940s, the links between the various regional wars would finally be connected
German carmakers, whose definition of derisking has been more (not less) China, are now scrambling in real-time to diversify from Chinese rare earth magnets. The lack of strategic vision is breathtaking. A replay of the Russian gas debacle

Looks pretty cool! Thanks for the recommendation!
“Military Keynesianism boosts profits and strengthens the state.
More importantly, the threat of war helps to keep people scared and divided, making them much less likely to fight back against this corrupt and broken system.”

I wonder how that treatment would be called 🧐
What's the reason behind the misprediction?
Tariff chaos?
A couple of points.
The distinction some European economists draw between “mid” and “high-tech” is artificial in reality.
ASML grew out of gold old Philips.
Airbus out of legacy plane builders.
Germanys growing EV strength is driven by
…drumroll…
Its existing carmakers and Mittelstand.

A scatter plot graph from a New York Times blog post featuring data from 2022 in an academic paper by Jake Grumbach and Adam Bonica on why America’s Congress members are so old. The x-axis shows the median age of the national legislature and the y-axis shows the median age of the population overall in the OECD, a group of around three dozen wealthy countries that are almost all democracies. At roughly 58 years old, the United States House of Representatives has both the highest median age overall and the largest gap between legislators and the population.
America’s national legislature has the oldest median age compared to dozens of wealthy democracies.
And this graph just includes the House—the median senator is nearly a decade older than that.

Kinda obvious but the Rheinmetall stock is *wild*
From Bluesky to the Guardian!
In my new op-Ed, I argue that the “male glaze” of media and politics is empirically, normative, and politically wrong and that progressives should focus more on the left turn of young women.
