It’s about time someone said it out loud on a national news show.

Major Gen. Paul Eaton (ret.) β€” on Trump’s interest in putting boots on the ground:

β€œWe have a situation where someone called a malignant narcissist is unfortunately drifting into a state of dementia that is difficult to manage.”

The European leaders need to find their courage and lay some of the blame for this at Trumps door - in order to tie his proxies to any suffering. Meanwhile double down on renewables/storage/efficiency. May also need some emergency relief for those worst impacted next winter.

The realities humans create only exist while there is a healthy ecosystem to exploit. When that is gone humans won’t be creating any new realities with their stories. We’ll just be animals again in a depleted ecosystem.

23.02.2026 11:46 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Would a gorilla, an elephant or a dolphin be wrong to believe that the reality is it’s an animal that lives in an ecosystem?

Is it different for humans?

23.02.2026 11:20 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

It sounds like your humanism is standing between you and reality.

Have you read Straw Dogs by John Gray?

Imagine living in a world where all the animals in the ecosystem BELIEVE they are animals in the ecosystem

22.02.2026 13:05 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Indeed. The false separation of humans from animals - when humans ARE animals, is the core of the problem.

Human exceptionalism is the most dangerous myth, but appears to be so deeply ingrained most people fail to even acknowledge it.

I don’t think there will be any kind of cultural epiphany until after a collapse and starvation reigns.

Especially when such an epiphany would destroy our vested interests and the world as we know it.

22.02.2026 12:59 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

It’s not the world we need to rethink. It’s ourselves.

We haven’t begun to look in the historical cultural mirror that has taken us to this point.

We haven’t even begun to understand ourselves, the shared myths that drive civilisation, the shared myths around what a human being is.

Clueless

Working with the fantastic Governor of Louisiana, Jeff Landry, we are going to send a great hospital boat to Greenland to take care of the many people who are sick, and not being taken care of there. It's on the way!!! President DJT

Healthcare in Greenland is publicly funded, free at the point of use, and despite geographical challenges considered very good.

Healthcare costs in the USA are extortionate and responsible for 60% of all US bankruptcies.

So maybe Denmark should be sending hospital ships the other way.

The US President, which does not offer free healthcare to his own people, wants his own people to offer free healthcare… to Greenland… which already has free healthcare.

Maybe it is time for another brain scan for the US president.

Are Americans really so stupid not to understand the importance of the separation of administration and judiciary?

From the other side of the pond you look like complete idiots

20.02.2026 13:00 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

We still have separation of the administration and the judiciary.

It seems the Americans are too stupid to understand the importance of that

Britain’s largest salmon farm has just been approved in Shetland - which would contain up to 6,000 tonnes of salmon at any one time.

This is a shocking decision that puts corporate profit above all else: animals welfare, local ecosystems and communities.

And flying is cheaper than taking the train.

Our leaders clearly understand the risks inherent in climate change and how to tilt our preferences to be more sustainable /s

19.02.2026 16:16 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Because of the entrenched belief in human exceptionalism and with it the untrammelled demand for humans to eat other animals and their excretions

We should tax air travel punitively. It’s currently subsidised for the world’s relatively rich people. In what kind of climate crisis does it make sense that flying is cheaper than taking the train?
