👋🏻Northside Bexar County voter here! I agree, it’s 🤯 how many people don’t vote! That is a crazy % of folks who stayed home Tues, but our usual “no line” site was PACKED from 4:30pm w/long lines to 7pm cutoff. Got in line @ 6:30, cast ours at 7:50pm, & people behind us still waiting to vote! A first!
Republican voters seem to have this duty in their dna. Sadly, too many Dem & Ind voters think they can sit out in protest if they aren’t “excited enough” about the candidates, or if said candidates aren’t “perfectly matched” to their expectations.

For the 1st time since moving to TX, exc. COVID voting, the line at our “no line” site was so long we didn’t get to cast our vote until 7:50pm. We got in line at 6:25pm. 👀 They ran out of sample D ballots, while the R pile loaded. This is atypical for the location, & an exciting sign for us!

“Uncorroborated?” Why is this word even part of the headline here? Does PBS have insight into all the files (even unreleased ones) to unequivocally state they are so? Also, who are they appeasing by adding in a word not previously used so prominently to describe accusations against prior prez?

… why in the world was he treated like an average citizen when it should have been considered crimes under the Patriot Act (you know GOP would have used that if the roles were reversed), much less just treason and espionage as stated in the constitution? Arrests should have occurred at 12:01pm.
I want to believe this, Eric. But why wasn’t there REAL accountability after 1/6? So much time spent dotting I’s and crossing T’s to ensure “fairness.” But we all witnessed treasonous acts - they were in public posts, recorded in interviews, seen by our own eyes via clips captured by journalists…

My mother emigrated to the US when she was 12. Even living in an Italian neighborhood amongst other immigrants in Chicago, she was targeted. The craziest thing is by the time I was her age, being Italian was “cool,” and the country was on to disparaging the next wave of immigrants.
I am glad you pointed this out; the Irish weren’t “welcome” in the US, nor were the Italians, and every cultural wave of immigrants since. He is rewriting who “belongs” based on how white their nationality. Next level bs from this guy as usual.
The craziest thing for me is how low my bar for these officials has gotten in hearings. Like I’m appreciating Dir Lyons’ respectful and honest tone/approach… even though his agency is brutality. He comes across as the guy stuck answering for policies he doesn’t agree with.
Wait… HE searched through legal arguments “not yet articulated…, etc.?” The whole text is nuts, but my brain can’t get past the incongruence of that statement alone.
What they *should* versus what they have the 🍒 to do… People wanted accountability after 1/6; we got an anemic majority. The only way the *should* happens is if the majorities in both houses consist of those willing to enforce constitutionally required actions.

That read more like a guy trying to cozy up to the investigators to suss out what they had and try to convince them he wasn’t part of it… and not at all like a truly “concerned citizen.”
Watching her reactions and hearing her trash talking retorts reminded me guests on the Jerry Springer show. She acted like she was ready to “throw down” and start a fight. Good grief.

Someone should post a photo of the current administration and elected GOP in response. Disappointed there’s not enough diversity for those 15 minutes (once a year!) during the Super Bowl? This guy must be enraged by the lack of diversity in the majority party.
I would also add his election in 2016 re-traumatized many of us who’ve been SA as kids, teens, young adults; placing us in a state of constant hyper vigilance that has had debilitating effects on our ability to function as effectively as we once could.
Whoa! Slow down there! We’re “aging like a fine wine;” we’re not “old,” yet… right? 😬
