Today was the day from Hell. From being accused of pushing a kid to attempt suicide to a parent blaming me for her child’s apathy and unwillingness to work. This lets me know I won’t be in education much longer.

I’m so sick of this damn job! Lord, don’t ever let me be like these people that don’t hold their kids feet to the fire!

Really want to try something kinda fun when we get back from Spring Break, but my students need to more practice on the fundamentals.

It’s spring semester so that means I’m in recommendation letter, college essay editor, and explaining the cost of attendance to my seniors mode. I’m trying to get them to understand getting accepted into college is only the beginning. Paying for it with little/no debt is the goal.

I am currently going through the hardest season of my life. I know things will get better, but I am truly struggling. My kids, family, and friends have helped me to keep pushing through, though.

Having a student tell you she’s scared because of her citizenship status is heartbreaking. What’s even worse is her saying her mother vocally supports the orange demon.

Teaching in Texas is nothing if not a journey. I have to constantly remind myself that the ignorance espoused by some of my students is learned from their small minded parents. I try and give grace, but that shit is hard!
