This is no different from Putin saying MH17 was shot down by Ukraine or Assad saying rebels gassed themselves.

There is a legal provision in immigration law that someone married to a US citizen can stay in the US while there visa is pending. Immigration officials have long recognized it to allow residency during the wait time. The DHS has just stopped following this part of the law.

Pete Hegseth's murderous buffoonery, coming amid a lifetime in which he's betrayed everyone close to him and failed up from one disaster to the next, is a perfect example of how the appeal of Trumpism is that it creates a permission structure for people to openly be their worst selves

Counting the coverage: The UKs media war on trans rights Data reveals the scale of the UK media's focus on trans issues: 6,450 articles in 2025 and more than 1,146 in the first two months of 2026.

UK mainstream media published 6,500 articles about trans people in 2023. It published a similar number in 2025, almost none of which were written by trans people

Reminds me of Hannah Arendt’s description of Adolf Eichmann & others like him becoming β€œexperts” on The Jewish Question in 1930s Germany

ian huntley is dead. i'll always remember how the british press attempted to incite hatred against the trans community by reporting he was transitioning, then apologised to him for incorrect reporting instead of apologising to trans people

I saw the UK Eurovision entry. Truly one of the worst things ever.

And that's saying something in this dark world.

Sharpton: "We're still here! We've come this far by faith. It was against the law to read and write! It was against the law to marry, but we've come this far by faith. I don't care what they do in Washington, I care what we do in the community. We've beat people bigger than Trump!"

Obama: "We are living in a time where it can be hard to hope. Each day we wake up to some new assault on our democratic institutions. Another setback to the idea of the rule of law ... but this man - Rev. Jesse Jackson - inspires us to take a harder path ... bc if we don't step up, nobody else will"

I remember seeing Rabin and Arafat shake hands when I was a teenager largely still unaware of world realities but thinking the world was heading towards a more peaceful and safe place. I now don't expect to see peace and stability in my lifetime. All thanks to oligarchs, bros and totalitarians.

Axel Springer agrees to buy Telegraph Media Group in Β£575m deal Last year the Daily Mail and General Trust proposed to buy the company in a Β£500m takeover.

Agreed. The US military has the ability to park these weapons with ridiculous precision.

If intentional, a monstrous crime.

If unintentional, gross negligence- and still a crime 🀬🀬🀬

The video of a United States Senator joining the violent removal of U.S. marine from a hearing and hideously breaking his arm in a door is an example of what has been unleashed in this country. They’re tapping in to get in on the violence.
And then he bragged about it on X later.

Kristi Noem has done a stunning amount of damage and it’s good she’s gone.

But this doesn’t change the fact that we need a complete overhaul of DHS, impartial investigations into the killings of two American citizens, and information on children that were taken from Minnesota.

A problem is nobody believes there's any money to pay for anything current or future policies, but we're not being sold convincing policies. And when it comes to transphobia, there's little daylight between UK and Scotland now. But I'm only guessing at why it's stalled.
