Iβm not actually working on my novel today but Iβm listening to the inspiration playlist I made for my novelβ¦ That counts for something, right? π π
Iβve been a fan of this guy since back in the day when he was making organs out of Furbies. Itβs very cool to see him compete in Eurovision. πΉπ€
Also, this song slaps.

The cookbook Iβm using says itβs supposed to bring out the natural sweetness of the bananas so you donβt have to put as much sugar in the bread, but weβll see if it makes a difference.
And yes, pecans are the best.
Iβve got the baking bug & there were a ton of bananas about to go bad at work. Soooo itβs banana bread time, feat. caramelized pecans. π€
Also trying a new thing where I roast the bananas first, which will either be revolutionary or a total mess, maybe both.
I know itβs far from the worst problem happening in the world right now, but Daylight Savingβs Time is a real bummer. β° π
Iβve been wanting to read her for awhile, if I like this one Iβll probably dive into that series. Itβs never available at the library so it must be good. π
Two books: βAlmost Lifeβ by Kiran Millwood Hargrove βBury Our Bones in the Midnight Soilβ by V.E. Schwab
Got a Book of the Month box in the mail yesterday! ππ Havenβt read either of these authors before & Iβm excited. Canβt decide which one to start first, I guess Iβll just see what mood Iβm in when I sit down to read later.
A bag of lemon puff cookies. The expiration date says βBest before: Nov 26, 2026 ADβ
Bought these cookies at the Asian grocery store near my house & the expiration date on them is cracking me up.
Starting the day with βAngel Witchβ by Angel Witch (from their album βAngel Witchβ). Happy Friday! π€

Oh wow, now you have me questioning everything. π I think both ways are acceptable, itβs just a matter of picking one? I like it better as a lower case word, but I think the capitalized version might actually be the correct answer.
I saw Alexander Malofeev play with the Oregon Symphony last fall & I was absolutely blown away. He just released his first album & everything Iβve heard on it so far is gorgeous. πΉ
Playing piano like this at any age is incredible but heβs only 24!!!

Was in such a rotten mood today & my afternoon piano students really cheered me up just by being their quirky, smart little selves.
Iβve got a Roland SP-404 & itβs great! Thereβs a bit of a learning curve on it but it can do everything you would ever need a sampler to do.
Half of my book is record store employees leaning on counters while at work, so this one was easy. π
Hereβs a snippet from the first chapter of βObsidian Streets.β

Ahhh this sounds so cool!
Thank you! Itβs still a work in progress, am in the editing/revising stage at the moment.
Magical musical portal! π€
Oooh this sounds great! Also, I love what youβve done with the record image.
Love the playlist!!!
Thanks Harley! Iβve got lots of editing to do still but when I get it to the point where people can read it I can send you a copy if you like. π
Thank you! Itβs been a lot of fun to write.
I love this premise, very cool.
This looks fantastic!
Aww thank you! βΊοΈ
In the top corner, the text reads βObsidian Streets.β There are 9 images in a grid: 1. Artistic picture of a lava lamp 2. A frog in a swamp 3. A mysterious forest 4. Close-up of a synthesizer 5. Old school reel-to-reel recording equipment 6. An electric guitar 7. Deep Purple 8. A hand sliding a record out of a sleeve (the person in this photo is wearing a flannel shirt) 9. Close-up of a denim jacket
OBSIDIAN STREETS
In 1973, an unknown rock band recorded a concept album set in a fantasy world. All five members of the band disappeared and the record was never released. Decades later, the one remaining copy turns up at a record store, unleashing more than just weird old prog rock.

About to post my very first pitch for the novel Iβve been working on. π
Iβm still revising and editing it, but Iβm hoping this will motivate me to finish it. I also want to make friends with more writers!
Oooh this sounds very cool.
I love this concept and the title is incredible.
Todayβs βObsidian Streetsβ snippet is from the scene where the owner of the record store (Larry) invites two employees (Sydney & Hunter) into the mysterious basement of the shop (where he may or may not be living).

Also, Iβm working up the nerve to participate in WSPit tomorrow. π
