Happy Valentines Day! ๐
Small valentines Inori drawing
I made a Street Fighter 6 style frame data display bar ๐ฅ
So why did I make a frame data displayer in a farming game?
Fighting game brain rot ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
Happy New Year~
๐๐๐ค
Vacation is over ๐
Merry Christmas! ๐๐๐ฅ
Thanks!๐
I'm going on a trip to Japan for 2 weeks where I'll be pausing my daily post regarding my game. It wasn't anything big but 1 post a day is pretty good for someone who posts 6 time a year in total ๐ฅ
One of the elements I'm inspired by isekai stuff is appraisal.
Finding and inspecting new items, plants etc. is planned to be a core part of the gameplay and progression.
Some old sketches of the characters. I really wanted those camp fire night vibes
WIP 3D models of the chars in my game.
Made something quickly first to add them into the game and get a better idea of the workflow.
Not the prettiest road, but roads prevent new stuff from spawning on top of it, increases movement speed slightly and reduces stamina cost, allowing the player to move faster overall.
On another note, during the time I wasn't working on my farming game I was working on a 2D sidescrolling action roguelike with a character creator. It was supposed to be unisex in the end.
My current goal is to have a demo for both my farming game and this which doesn't bug out all the time.
This is the current model of the game's main character, Nora.
Still using some of VROID's default textures and the design has changed a bit since then.
Currently I make my models in VROID and try to match them with the 2D design.
This is me trying to feel out how I want it to look.
I then take them into blender for adjustments although I don't have any FINISHED character models. ๐
Chop the wood
Just mining. I need to spawn the vfx at impact point ๐
Slime gang ๐ฅ
I understand why slime recolors are a staple... ๐
Chibis for when the characters. I want to use them for when the chars speak off screen and in UI.
Not exactly sure about the details but I have moveable pots where you can plant your... plants...
I enjoy the aesthetic and also the idea of being able to bring them inside.
I don't know if I'll do multiple different outfits, but I will do hats as they're easier to make and I like the vibe ๐ฅ
This is the sorta vibe I'm going for, with WIP models of the cast.
I think I also have to do an indoor version, as I "building a house" is part of the game.
2 last chars for now, elf sibling pair.
Now we go to Norway ๐
WIP of my merchant character in my game, Vaillant.
I'm travelling to Norway to play Tekken, so doing a bit more chill with daily posts.
I am tying a lot of the character interactions to cooking.
The idea is that the characters eat together and vibe while also incentivising players to cook different recipes.
Also have to adjust the lighting ๐
WIP crafting.
All items have a quality value and things take time to craft.
I would love to have a cool skill based mini game for it, but that will probably be for another game.
For my farming game, watering and spacing of plants affect the quality and growth of plants.
The flowers is just a WIP visual to show the plant bolted which gives you seeds when harvested.
I've had a lot of silly joy googling how to space my own plants at home.
The VFX is mostly bought assets, and I haven't adjusted them too much to fit the project yet.
It's great you mentioned it though, I just found out it ran at double speed lol.
Charge time for types of spells will vary and have 3 different levels of charge, but it's TBD.
Quick iteration of charging spells
Also if I wanna post daily, I should do it earlier ๐
Being able to make your farm look nice is a core appeal of the genre. Requiring more time to cast or higher startup speed is a very essential drawback in combat.
Thanks you helped me make up my mind. Now to set aside time to implement it ๐ค
From a combat perspective it would always be better to have the highest level version, but as a farming utility especially for aesthetics, you wouldn't want the largest area affected every time.
I'm pondering over flexibility or time convenience. I'm leaning towards flexibility.
By using your spells and skills, you can make your spells stronger.
I'm considering whether to require charging the spell to get the stronger version, basically to still have access to the weaker versions.
