Did you hear the announcement from Oslo? The committee chair made a very pointed dig at authoritarianism, and not specifically about Venezuela. Could very much have been taken as criticism of the tangerine twat, and justification of why he didn't get the prize.
Lol. Giving it to a Venezuelan is the best "f*** you" to the orange-faced felon! Nicely done, Nobel committee.
I'm using a kit for the water distribution and sprinklers, but the pumping and automation are all homebrew. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B08C...
I can share some of the blame for the rain, having also been installing mine today.
Trying to decide if I should go out for a walk after lunch. BBC weather and the Met Office have very different views. Is there some kind of meta-forecast that forecasts which forecast is more likely to be accurate?
A statue of Archbishop Richard Sterne in York Minster. The figure is laying down with slightly crossed legs, with the head resting on a hand.

Morning!
Watching the news today is, again, like watching a soap opera. Dirty Don and all the other dodgy characters...
Not as smug as the orange-faced felon when he tries to take the credit for an American-born cardinal being elected
I think this means they're ordering pizza. #ChimneyWatch
Hello!
Two chicken breasts costing Β£2.50 is in a security box at my local Co-op. WTF!?
A tall ice cream cone with a flake and some bright green sauce drizzled on top. The background is a bright blue sky and very green trees.
Feels like summer βοΈ
Liz Truss visits the Queen. Queen dies. JD Vance visits the Pope. Pope dies. I'm spotting a pattern....
More lunchtime duckery!
Quack!
Hello!
A TV showing BBC News, with a picture of King Charles playing a carrot in a similar manner to a recorder. The caption says "King Charles plays a carrot".
I hope that orange thing in his mouth is actually a carrot and not some weird new tradition for the state visit of the American president.
The core part of the ticket includes two three letters acronyms, HRH and TBD, with an arrow from the first to the second.
My train ticket looks like the dilemma of what to do about Prince Andrew.
8kts was reported late morning, only got down to 5kts in the last hour. That 3kts extra makes all the difference π΄ββοΈπ
Despite not living there, I spend a lot of time around Richmond and Kew, I'm used to seeing westbound landing planes over Kew Gardens, but eastbound departing ones turning south over Richmond Park. Like you, I don't think I've ever seen eastbound over Kew.
Yeah, just looking at the departure routes, every single one has a turn soon after takeoff, none for straight east. ATC can, and do, override these though. May be due to congestion caused by additional flights (as Kate was originally getting at)
5kts, according to the AIP, which is pretty much what the current wind is. Also, only if the runway surface is dry.
It does look like they may be heading further east over London before turning, compared to normal. I'm just looking to see if there are any airspace closures etc. that may influence that.
Easterly-ish winds today. So takeoff and landings to the east. Same happened a week prior.
Great photos! Welcome to Bluesky π

A volcanic caldera filled with black lava and smallish cinder cones. The caldera walls are cliff-like. Some clouds can be seen below, creeping towards the caldera. Thin clouds are in an otherwise blue sky. Pico do Fogo, Cape Verde.
