Actually I forgot about Braid (2008), it should be on there but idk what it would replace
@alys-1993
Call me Alyssa, Alys, or Aile. She/Her Big fan of RPGs and also quite a few other video games. Ask me anything DQIII related and 9/10 times I’ll have some useful advice. Not much of a creative myself, but I love talking about art in general.

The box arts of nine video games (made with my9games.com). In order from top-left to bottom-right: Legend of Mana (1999) Silent Hill (1999) SaGa Frontier 2 (1999) Super Mario 64 (1996) Animal Crossing: New Leaf (2012) Wario Land 3 (2000) Cave Story (2004) Box Boy! (2015) Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia (2017)
Here’s my two cents on the nine games trend. A few titles had to be shoved out for other ones, but these all made me Feel Things in ways that most games don’t. Some more basic, others on a deeper level. Roughly ordered in how important they are to me
Jill’s version is supposed to be more open ended at the start, but the remake added the emblems. So it’s much more linear
Recent collab, and a first for the series iirc
I can really only recommend FFIII Maeson if you found the likes of SMT and old-school Wizardry to be easy. Otherwise, it’s an enjoyable novelty that you mess around with for 5-10 hours before giving up on it and finding something that won’t make you say “what the fuck” out loud multiple times.
I see the vision, but when the only promise over the original is “better combat” and most battles become a slog, it’s hard to recommend or enjoy. Jobs like Ninja and Viking are really fun, but these simply aren’t allowed to take center stage as enemies consistently threaten to make you start over.
I love the job rebalancing (for the most part) and the loads of equipment choices, but the enemies are way too over-tuned for the encounter rate and limited MP that you’re saddled with. It’s to the point where bosses are easier than the random encounter you had to fight right beforehand!
I’ve been playing Maeson’s romhack of FF3 over the past few days, but I don’t think I’ll be able to see it through to the end. It’s just too damn hard! I enjoyed most of what I could play, but its problems are hard to ignore.
It’s 8 hours long at most and a really important part of game history. You don’t have many excuses
Dang. I’d always get stuck on the train fight, but the trash bot never gave me much trouble lol
Was it the train?
Article full of baseless speculation from "Tech4Gamers" Windows 12 Reportedly Set for Release This Year as a Fully Modular, Subscription-Based, AI-Focused OS By Shaheer Zahid
Oh my god you dipshits stop spreading the link.
None of you even *read* the fucking thing.
It's based on RUMORS AND GUESSES from a PC World article.
My god y'all are such fucking rubes.
Monk from Final Fantasy 1 (PSX)
Master from Final Fantasy 1 (PSX) Upgraded form of Monk
Crazy to me that these are supposed to be the same guy
Betting that it’s the shitty version with way too much reverb
From left to right: Little Ziggy (Converge Commander Z’gok), Zig (HG Z’gok), Jim (HG GM), Gip (HG Physalis). By the way, Gip is not pronounced with a “soft G” sound.
Zig, Jim, and Gip. And Little Ziggy in the corner too, I guess
I’m very green :-)
Aria of Sorrow and Order of Ecclesia are must plays, after that pick and choose from the others based on if you think you’ll like them. Dawn is quite grindy, and CotM is the most difficult (excluding OoE hard mode)
Exegootioner. Sprite edit of a Hoodlum-type enemy with the head replaced with a Slime and the color palette changed to match
An aberrant form,,
PSIII is so damn weird. I wish it was worthwhile to play because it’s amazing conceptually
It’s an okay port of some really old arcade games, but not much else. Funnily enough, it’s the only GBA game I physically own rn. I just have it to fill the 2nd slot on my DS lol
2019? They’re STILL doing that and it’s even less funny than when it started
That’ll be hell to search through if you don’t organize it day 1 lmao
I think people who say stuff like this are simply too unmotivated to deal with even the tiniest bit of friction in their games. This statement isn’t surprising though, given the direction they took with later TES and Fallout games.
Yuzo Koshiro never misses
The AW2 version of Jess specifically. Having weak infantry units means you’re forced to use your expensive stuff intelligently.
Aesthetically, probably Kanbei? Yellow comet units just look the coolest, tbh
Open world games peaked 26 years ago with Legend of Mana and barely anyone has been able to match it
a genius with his thinking cap on declaring "haha is my PS2 laser dirty? what is this crap", dismissively pointing his thumb at the soundtracks to drakengard and evergrace, which conveniently have an arrow pointing to them labeled "(literal coolest music ever)"
never trust gamers example #38403482
Crit rate only goes off of base speed, not actual speed iirc
I hate how much Hippeux’s grown on me. How does he get to do that
