The Canadian part of the poster is chock full of details and whimsical characters. The Mexican section is a bit more generic but includes some national elements. The US section? Nothing but Stars and Stripes. Feels like the artist is trying to tell us something.
It is very hard to describe this horror. It is meant to show a stylised footballer kicking a ball, surrounded by barely recognisable (save for a bear, a moose and a Mountie duck) symbols of the three host nations: Canada, Mexico and the USA. It is very confused, and confusing. Colour-blind people will also find it a challenge, as the palette is predominantly green and red.
It took three artists, Carson Ting (Canada), Minerva GM (Mexico) and Hank Willis Thomas (United States), to design this abomination, known as the OFFICIAL FIFA 2026 WORLD CUP™️ POSTER. Also: the kicking leg of the "footballer" looks like a map of Mexico, complete with Baja California. Just me?
