Roughly 10 years apart! First image is the original illustration and second is the redraw I finished this year. I used the same pink color and kept most references from the original.

There's more discourse going around about why people turn to genai, and I only have to say this;
When you truly want to make art, you'll find a way to create with what you have. That drive to create is all you. Be willing to make a mess. Make mistakes. Grow. That's where the real art happens.
If someone wants to make art they'll make art.
There's a lot of emphasis by some that think only the tools and supplies will allow you to make art, but that's BS. Yes, SOME tools and supplies will allow you to make CERTAIN types of art, but that's not stopping you from creating.
